- We knew that with release of the Elan Voyager, the world’s first folding all-mountain ski, that skiers would have concerns about their performance. Will they break? Can they carve on groomers and float through pow? How will they perform on tough terrain?
Despite being so space-efficient, the Voyager will happily tackle anything a demanding skier can throw at it, all without compromising an ounce of performance.
The secret of the Voyager is the revolutionary Connect Technology which uses a highly advanced four-axis mechanism that bonds and seals the ski together at the folding joint. This feature combined with a carbon-reinforced fusion plate serves as a load- bearing platform for support. The two components work together to provide torsional rigidity for superior ski performance, but also allow the ski to fold into a compact, easy to transport package, compliant with check-in baggage requirement.
Still don’t believe us? We sent a pair to Ski Cross World Champion Filip Flisar and gave him one instruction … shred hard! Hit the box, earn your turns, overshoot jumps, essentially do anything you can to try and break them, and report back to us.

They solved the problem that did not exist.
Actually they did solved the problem or need for alpine military. Now they're marketing them also for consumers who find them useful from perspective of transport.

yeah, right. 3X more expensive than comparable non-foldable skis + having more moving parts under constant stress means more prone to failure (Engineering 101) + 1st generation tech. Do we really need those? Well, maybe, if one drives to his ski resorts in Ferrari-like car with an a trunk sized for a midsize backpack and nothing else. The reason for making these for Elan? Ultra high margins and non-existing competition. That's it. Now I can create a whole strategy for marketing these with very compelling reasons but hold MBA in marketing and I can basically sell high-end 3D TVs to cyclops and 800 USD Dyson hairdryers to bold people.
Ferrari ... or with a plane, from countries without ski resorts like GB, Holland, Belgium, ... Think wider!
They were developed for alpine military, but now they're on the market for consumers who find them practical for their need. And they have been tested. Don't worry. Five years ago they developed this rotating mechanism as said for military skis.
