    I love this unplugged version. You can really hear the way his voice carries us into his world.

    Quite frankly, perhaps the best version of this song I've ever heard.

    Both Hall and Oates are great musicians and have great voices, but of this duo, John's voice has always been my favorite!

    Great arrangement, great tempo, great version. Have always loved the songs that Oates sang from Abandoned Luncheonette and Bigger than the Both of Us. Love his phrasing.

    that is very hard to do...and sound that good! My older brother had cable TV back in 1979 when I was 19 and we saw Hall and Oats do a "live" greatest hits and my sister-in-law said after John Oats did the lead singing on a few of their hits... she said "that little guy can sing"

    With songs like this one I always wondered why it wasent Oats & Hall, as John played guitar and sang, one of my favorite songs of all time, great job! Love them together , John is great solo artist as well!

    he makes it look easy thumbing the bass notes and the 6 fret chord progressions and to have written that in the 70s very nice

    Sounds like hes still singing his harmony part to Daryl s lead on the chorus.
    John always kept his cool through the years, while Daryls ego caused him to aquire lead singer-itis. I once heard Daryl call himself the greatest singer alive back in the 80s. Those guys together were hit makers. For a while they had a great run.

    John Oates didn’t get enough love man. I felt like Daryl Hall never gave him a chance to be lead for at least one song.

    everyone wants to hear She's gone but John wrote it and sang back up, daryl sang lead. so that's why it sounds different.

    When it gets to the part "I'll spend eternity in the city..." he begins that next progression with an Amaj7 and then the camera goes to a face closeup...
    Any of you guitar geeks out there know where he takes that progression in that run? If so, please respond.
    Other tab sites don't do justice based on what he does here...

    Why does Daryl say the tile is "everybody's high on consolation" when they play in concert? Is that the actual name of the song?

  • @edwinsallan
    @edwinsallan 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At his age, there'a good chance that his moustache is already gray that's why he shaved it. He probably dyes his hair black, too. I mean, look at Daryl Hall now with his gray beard and all.

    whoever captured this video is clearly not a musician. any musician would want to see his hands / chords.. every time he sings the chorus whoever's doing this video zooms in on his face. every time so you never get to see his hands during the chorus
