They are not accepting the resignation opportunity because we are conditioned to read and abide by written agreements and contracts. I am eligible for retirement and I am not going to accept this offer. There is still too much risk based upon the unknown. I am not the only one. We would have preferred our local HR to provide briefings and something to sign in person. @ They are not If it’s so bad there leave Why the refusal to return to the office? The real workplace is the opposite of the federal employee workplace You have it great but all the whiney entitled remarks are nauseating You negotiate contracts where you can’t be fired You negotiate great pensions and rules unimaginable to most workers Trumps in office and in less than 30 days your department heads accept the unions new rules to keep working from home while Trump is still in office Most unions negotiate with companies . You negotiate with friendly departments bureaucrats Crazy

@ I never said it was so bad. I've been a FED for 31 years. I don't agree that the "real workplace is the opposite..." We do our work just like everyone else. People can and do get fired in the federal government but there are policies and rules that have to be followed just like in private sector companies with unions. I'm actually not part of the union, not all poistions are. Unions also have to negotiate, not with friendly bureaucrats but certainly not with vendetta driven power hungry nuts like Trump that just wants to flex his muscles. COVID is what caused FEDs to start working from home full time. people were already teleworking a few days a pay period or more depending on the Agency many years before that and theree was never an issue with it. Most Agencies have already had people coming back into the office but still teleworking other days. Why is it so important for someone to be in an office when they can do their jobs at home? Trump claims he wans to eliminate government waste and improve efficiency but ordering every back to the office 5 days a week does the oppostime and makes no rational sense. The GSA estimated $60 billion doallars in savings ( on capital leases) by keeping people remote. Add on the extra money to spend on security, utilities, maintenance, etc., it will be $10s of millions more in unnecessary government wasteful spending.
But what about those of us you applied for and were hired as “Remote”? I was hired into a remote position. What rights do I have if forced to move into an office?
The "right" is that the govt retains the ability to change remote to office, regardless of if they said it was remote initially. The govt retains the right to chaing the nature of your job any time unless there is a specific contract you signed that prohibits such change.

Partially correct. You will incur a PERMANENT 5% reduction in pension benefits for every year before age 62 if you immediately start taking your pension. If you POSTPONE ( do not defer) until age 62, then start taking your retirement you’ll get your full pension with no penalty. Talk to your benefits people. I’m somewhat in your same situation. @@ES-iz4wf Thank you for your response. Another question came up this morning when the head civilian at my agency says they do not have any guidance from DOD and don't expect any until the end of this month. They cannot tell the 1700+ employees here whether we are exempt from this opportunity or not. What happens if people sign it by tomorrow but find out at the end of the month that DOD has determined its not applicable. People will have voluntarily resigned on the 6th of February so now what happens?
I'm confused because you are specifically covering telework employees. However, I have come across several employees who are not teleworking and are thinking of taking the deferred resignation offer but don't know if they can. Does the early resignation offer only pertain to telework employees? If he is thinking of downsizing the gov't by approximately 200,000+ employees, he is not going to achieve this by just offering early resignation to telework employees. Please clarify.
your opinion of corrupt, unethical, or what constitutes the constitutionality of laws and mandates doesn't make them so. What are you even talking about?
I spoke with my union rep and since we are under a collective bargaining agreement the executive order does not out weight that in court. In addition, managers haven't echoed the order because our telework agreements are between us and our manager so if they tell us we have to return they will be in violation of the collective bargaining agreement. They know this so they have said we cant tell you what to do. So I am continuing to follow my legally binding collective bargaining agreement. Trump never wins when its time to go to court. Infact it becomes almost laughable when the courts review his requests.
Could you please address what it would mean if there are massive firings of probationary employees? Would that imply a political firing giving the current environment? Are they required to RIF? If they are required to follow RIF procedures but don't follow RIF, what are some of the possible recourses for probationary employees?
You should be filing suit against your union for doing shady stuff on your behalf. There was no bargaining with the last minute unilateral amendments by agency heads. That seems to be a problem.
OPM website operating status literally says DC workers have the option for unscheduled telework today on 2/6/25 the day of reckoning for teleworkers😅😂😂😂 I wonder if Trump knows??
Advisors have always influenced opinions of decision makers. That is literally how things work. You advise your supervisor on work issues, do you not? Do you think no one advised Biden to not run again, or that there weren't advisors telling Biden anything?
You can't. They said even if you decide to do it's up to the agency of they want to accept your decision. If it's VA they won't be going back. Also it determines if your role is one of those exempted roles.

@@MARKEJ67 why are federal workers benefits work rules and pensions a bad thing?
@ They are not If it’s so bad there leave Why the refusal to return to the office? The real workplace is the opposite of the federal employee workplace You have it great but all the whiney entitled remarks are nauseating You negotiate contracts where you can’t be fired You negotiate great pensions and rules unimaginable to most workers Trumps in office and in less than 30 days your department heads accept the unions new rules to keep working from home while Trump is still in office Most unions negotiate with companies . You negotiate with friendly departments bureaucrats Crazy
@ President Trump will make us see the truth soon. Most of us are just pawns on the chess board in the federal work place. WDC is the King on the chess board. WDC rules! I’m waiting on a buyout. Going to office never bother me. Just saying….
Sounds like none.
Read small print, states your remote work can be terminated with notice to you (or something to that extent) I was in that type of hire
None. U serve the interests of the Gov
The "right" is that the govt retains the ability to change remote to office, regardless of if they said it was remote initially. The govt retains the right to chaing the nature of your job any time unless there is a specific contract you signed that prohibits such change.
No direction yet for remote employees who don’t supervise.
The taxpayers are paying your high wages and benefits. We have to show up for work and so should you!

Customer service has gone down because when i call businesses and government agencies, there are screaming kids in the background and the employees are distracted. They don't call you back or they justvwant to push you along to get off the phone. People need to go back!
I am sure the union will have some words for the decisions.
@@jasonwilliam_MaxIronGuild_79 No, they won't. They are completely impotent. More like an ice cream social than a real union. Remember the experimental shots? They were just like, "oh, we wish you would have asked us first, but OK."

I'm eligible to retire this year under the MRA +10. I'm 59 1/2 with over 12yrs of service and intend to retire 12/31/2025. If I take the deferred resignation I assume I will be paid until I retire in December and then receive my retirement annuity from that point forward. Is that correct?
Partially correct. You will incur a PERMANENT 5% reduction in pension benefits for every year before age 62 if you immediately start taking your pension. If you POSTPONE ( do not defer) until age 62, then start taking your retirement you’ll get your full pension with no penalty. Talk to your benefits people. I’m somewhat in your same situation. I’ll have MRA+10 on October 5th, 2025. I can take advantage of the opportunity too if I want too.
That's the issue. Remember March 14 again.

Telework was never meant to be permanent...It's time to get back to the real world of in-office work...😮😮😮...
Significant amount of positions require little in person activity. Having people come in out of spite is illogical and effectively cruel for cruelty’s sake. Plus the majority of us are hybrid. We come in 2 or 3 days a week. Those telework days allow for flexibility with children or in DC, cutting back on commute hours.
What do you define as the real world? If a position doesn’t require public interaction, what does it matter? Honest question.
And who said it wasn’t meant to be permanent?
why go back to an office and waste millions and billions of dollars on office space, security, utilities, maintenance, etc., for worjk that can be done at home in front of a computer?
@theoperative85 Telework is a useful tool but was never meant to be a permanent way of doing business for any organization...including the federal government...In fact...other private company and state and local government industries have long since recalled its workforce back into the office....😮😮😮...It is now past time for the federal government to do the same...😮😮😮...Telework will still be offered to select federal government personnel in certain situations but massive personnel five day teleworking is coming to an end...😮😮😮...

They will but won't know it. When port inspections slow down your delivery slows. You won't know why. When your medication is not approved by the FDA in a cancer trial your doctor will not tell you because the drug will just not be available. When your passport takes 3 more weeks to process you will not have a good comparison the last one was 10 years ago. When you call the social security office and they say only in person service and a month to get your appointment it's hard have a comparison when it's your first time.
