Thanks for putting out all these good videos. For some of us who can not go out as often, you have offered a window of where we can just imagine being there. Good job.
I usually tip $100 on a 2.5 day trip, but to each there own, tip what you can! Tip more if you thought the crew worked their butts off. If you can afford a 2.5 day then you can afford to tip at least $50 in my opinion.
@@mdirtbike lol $100 on a 2.5 day? Thats $40 bucks a day between the whole crew. So like $10 a persn what a rip. If you cant afford to take care of the captain dont go on a whole 2.5 day trip. Stay with the rookies on a 3/4 and tip them that
At the end of the video, was that a double SD jam knot to your flat fall rig? 120# leader for the flat fall jig? Also, the flat fall you fished, was it stock or did you upgrade to bigger hooks? Awesome video man!
A P that was a small flatfall 160gram, i was fishing it on 40lb flouro, regular San Diego jam. Stock hooks on it. I have bigger glow flatfalls that have 100-200lb crimped leaders on them.
A P leader was like 5-6feet I’ll fish a longer leader for flyline like 20feet, it’s just personal preference. Most captains will tell you that you only need 3 feet of fluoro. What’s a bruiser
How about the kids who caught the massive 700 lb+ blue fin and the fish buyer only gave the $1,000 for it. 3 days later a blue fin the same size sold in Tokyo for over a million dollars. Hmm. Seems fishermen are getting the short end of the hook.
@@mdirtbike oh nice. I'm assuming the bait is included. Do you need to bring your own rod and gear? And does the deckhand usually get a tip on a boat like that?
blindabinda123 yes bait is provided, meals were included on that trip, but drinks and snacks had to be paid for, they run a galley tab and you pay at the end of the trip, the crew split the tips, yes always tip the crew they work hard to give you a good experience and they are there to help you catch fish. If you have gear bring it, if you call the landing they will tell you what to bring, they also rent gear out at the landing. They also sell tackle and licenses at the landing.
James Neal you’re on crack. There are fish all around the boat! He can’t catch them for you or make em bite! THATS THE JOB OF THE GUY WITH THE ROD! We just watched this dude put four on deck. I worked these boats for years. Passengers like you are cancer. Go away!

What's it cost for a trip like this?
blindabinda123 that trip was $775 but I think it was a bit high you can find 2.5 days for $695

Hi 👋
