Great job as always guys! I'm glad to see David back, the Josh's and David make a great team. Keep up the great work, my flying group and I all love the channel!
now what we have to remember here people is if you want an honest review on a product flite test is NOT the place to go, i watch this channel for entertainment NOT advice, go to RC model reviews for honesty, but aside form that nice vid
I flew this in quite heavy wind last weekend. The wing flex was really bad kind of like flutter. It totally killed aileron efficiency, I pretty much had to fly it 2 axis. I would think the wings would have broken off somehow but they didn't. I removed the retracting gear so that it would center without adding extra weight.
Hi. Can you please explain why some gliders have the horizontal stabilizer mounted so high up? I mean they are gliders, no bad effect of jet engine or something on them. Thanks.
im just wanting to get into the rc plane hobby. ive dabbled in rc helicopters but always wanted planes. So you have added a batteries worth of weight to the back of the glider. would there be a way to actually add a battery back there and run it in series to extend flight time??
To extend flight time you would have to rig it in parallel, rigging it in series would simply increase the voltage. But yes, in parallel it would increase flight time
it will be very hard to get a battery in parallel on a plane like that and get all the right connectors. thats why no one likes to put batteries in parallel unless you have extremely large planes.
Hey guys, I still consider myself a beginner although I have been "flying" for about 2 years. I have been doing alot of building and keep running into the situation where I need lots of servos and all my free channels. I noticed David seemed to know quite a bit about BEC's which I don't. How can I take translate the amperage and "type" (linear or switching) of my BEC into how many servos I can run? I assume it's difficult to know for sure since servos are so different, but I use alot of 5g.
um, sorry to say this, but the 9x (although it may be 9ch) cannot be used to it's full 9 channels because the highest receiver you can get for it is 8ch.
Was Josh really upset about them starting without him? Were they just acting? Sometimes it's hard to tell if they are just Hamming it up for the camera. I notice he does that quite a bit.
great plane good price needs a few mods, more throw on the elevator with struts, fair amount of lead on the tail, extra carbon rod in the joining section of the wings,1-2 carbon rods in the tail section, magnets for the canopy is a good idea and use flaps/air brakes to slow it down when landing as it is a very fast glider
Looks good :) Maybe also give the Multiplex Heron a try? I got it and the easyglider and some other stuff, but the heron is amazing o.o and this channel surely too, i love this :)
If they were using a smaller battery they wouldn't have had to add so much weight to the tail to get the cg at 45% of the wing chord back from the leading edge.. They never did indicate why it was so nose heavy. Were they using the recommended battery? Did it actually balance at the manufacturers prescribed cg which turned out to be a poor performing cg position. Not a very good review in my opinion.
@10:28 : Nope, you should really throw it as level as possible (assuming center of gravity is good). Many many airplanes will do a lot better with more speed and will catch lift best when just about level. It also saves power when not trying to climb, pick up speed and get lift all at the same time. All in all the 'gentle toss' part can't be stressed enough either. No need to give it your fastest throw ever. I guess people nowadays are quite being spoiled with high power motors.
Trust me, enjoying what you do is so much important than getting paid. However, a little money going their way would be nice as they deserve it for the work they put in.
@JollySwagman2006 well, MrFluxinator did say that it needs thicker CF. So i think he meant the ones in the plane are too thin. So if you read his comment more correctly, you wouldn't have been wrong!! lol just wanted to follow your pattern. xD
Love the show and you guys do a great job, but it would be nice if you'd review some quality products instead of the Hobby King bargain basement junk. Your review on the E-Flite Taylorcraft was great... why not more E-Flite, ParkZone, Hangar 9, Great Planes, Hobbico, etc.? Not top of the line products, just stuff most modellers would be interested in? Banana Hobbies already does reviews of bottom of the barrel products. You guys are way too good to be reviewing cheap junk!
I had one of these for one single flight, it flew well for a few minutes 'till it got destructive flutter & I lost it in flight, shame the design was great quality was poor:-(
check out David's FPV Space Glider video! watch?v=rpBnurznFio RC glider released from a weather balloon at 17.2 mi high. Amazing footage, the Earth's curvature is dramatic.
I'm sure it's already going but you can relate to my pain, I'm waiting a week and a half for my Dx6i and UMX as3xtra and a kk2 board to come in the mail...
I noticed Josh walked in & interrupted you just as you started talking about having to fill in a section of the tail with glue and never went back to that. Almost appeared staged lol. But anyways why are the servos grumbling? Any RC aircraft builder knows that noisy servos are an accident waiting to happen. David you need to wear some serious sunblock here in the U.S. our ozone is jacked and full of holes from all our industry & gas guzzlin SUV's. So protect yourself man...
@SillyFokkerRC It is the RedRock micro shoulder mount rig. And we shoot with the Canon 5D Mark II as well as the Canon 7D.
@PatBALEX It is a HITEC Aurora 9.
Great job as always guys! I'm glad to see David back, the Josh's and David make a great team. Keep up the great work, my flying group and I all love the channel!
Fortunately, the quality of the shots and the focus are much improved in the following years :-)
wow so amazed by the production on these vids
you guys have the best intros I have ever seen
hey, what is that red plane in the intro? it really looks nice i want to get one, thanks in advance
now what we have to remember here people is if you want an honest review on a product flite test is NOT the place to go, i watch this channel for entertainment NOT advice, go to RC model reviews for honesty, but aside form that nice vid
Ok
Does the advance control setup throw off the CG or does this model need excessive tail weight right out of the box?
Dude, I love Josh Scott lol. Such a newbie like me!
Hi.

I mean they are gliders, no bad effect of jet engine or something on them.
Thanks.
You broke Josh's little heart!!! Meanies!!! Lol @ group therapy comment. Nice review. Keep 'em comin' guys. :)
Hey guys would this be a good plane to set up for FPV? It looks like that canopy would nicely house a small camera.
im just wanting to get into the rc plane hobby. ive dabbled in rc helicopters but always wanted planes. So you have added a batteries worth of weight to the back of the glider. would there be a way to actually add a battery back there and run it in series to extend flight time??

Nice radio...What kind is it?
Do gliders fly longer due to their ability to fly more efficiently? Or do the controls still use a lot of power
Hey guys, I still consider myself a beginner although I have been "flying" for about 2 years. I have been doing alot of building and keep running into the situation where I need lots of servos and all my free channels. I noticed David seemed to know quite a bit about BEC's which I don't. I assume it's difficult to know for sure since servos are so different, but I use alot of 5g.
whats the name of that red cessna at the beginig of the videos?
Lol, as David unplugged the power at 7:00 the halfway commercial came up, and the picture went black :P
um, sorry to say this, but the 9x (although it may be 9ch) cannot be used to it's full 9 channels because the highest receiver you can get for it is 8ch.
Was Josh really upset about them starting without him? Were they just acting? Sometimes it's hard to tell if they are just Hamming it up for the camera. I notice he does that quite a bit.
@ Geoffery Morrell. They said they were using a little 2 cell 1300 mah. Teenie battery
Hi.. Can you post some building tips about this plane (Ventus 2,3m - HobbyKing)?
Thank You VERY VERY Much..!!!
Coolest freeking intro ever!!!
don't other channels get used for mixing, so 9ch but only output 8?
I think if u flash with other firmware it gets more than 9 as well
Where did you get this plane from?
I love soaring and searching for thermals, it's like fishing, but with air ;-)
Get that boy some sunscreen and a hat!
David would make a good homing beacon for night flying though.
what trance miter r u using

I want to know the transmitter setup!
02:20 david+good plane=mouse voice
I would like to see the ventus thermaling, gaining altitude without throttle.
Anyone have a video of it? :D
Have you guys ever done fpv on a glider?
SailorTrek Nerd Yes they did, they did it on the glider piggy back episode.
@Geoffrey morrell they said they were using a little 2 cell 1300 mah. Teeny battery
Can someone leave me a link where I can buy this? Maybe it is not for sale anymore.
why is the wing not so wide?
Looks good :) Maybe also give the Multiplex Heron a try? I got it and the easyglider and some other stuff, but the heron is amazing o.o and this channel surely too, i love this :)
what was wrong with the back of the plane?
so, were you guys using a battery much smaller than recommended? A plane like that shouldn't need 60g added just to fly!
If they were using a smaller battery they wouldn't have had to add so much weight to the tail to get the cg at 45% of the wing chord back from the leading edge.. They never did indicate why it was so nose heavy. Were they using the recommended battery? What radio is it?
+Crazy Impala an Aurora 9
Crazy Impala Transmitter?
that guy looks like he has one hell of a sunburn on his face
@canadianmaple09 you know who the sponsor is right?
Hey David, do you fly real sailplanes, cause im a glider pilot too!
David, SUNBLOCK!
His cheeks look very painful.
+Gino Punsalan We Vikings are not used to the sun....
+Gino Punsalan He just getting slaps with his GF, cos he spent all the money in RC plane. (joking)
I think it might be lupus. Idk tho
Which cheeks ?!?!? Lmao
I believe that a friend or staff member creates it. It is said in one of the interview videos.
link?

@MrFluxinator yes, I´m wondering if it could do a loop like this ..
switching BECs are the only way to go!
Where can I buy a f86?
Dolphin H Horizon Hobby
My cheeks hurt
Trust me, enjoying what you do is so much important than getting paid. However, a little money going their way would be nice as they deserve it for the work they put in.
you should put a fpv camera is the plastic cockpit
The crazy swedish guy living in th basement with no windows (david windestâl) never ceased to amaze me
i think you like him
Is that plane from a German company. The reason I ask is because of the flag on the back.
off topic i know but you could use some sunblock imho :O :) great flying though
lol at the wing flex
@Eduardo Carmona
Its a Taylorcraft
David is love
+Michael Sparks David is life
Need a slower landing. Airbrakes and a good flare for the win.
@JollySwagman2006 well, MrFluxinator did say that it needs thicker CF. So i think he meant the ones in the plane are too thin. So if you read his comment more correctly, you wouldn't have been wrong!!
lol just wanted to follow your pattern. xD
And being late is reason u not get plane named after you scott. lololol
Love the show and you guys do a great job, but it would be nice if you'd review some quality products instead of the Hobby King bargain basement junk. That's why Vikings explored but not settled down in America!
because Josh Scott came in, you still haven't said why you have use glue as a filler on the tail
nice video ,
Great vid and flying though, keep it up, and if Josh slaps you again (so cruel with that burn going on) maybe retaliate.
i need my second plane!!
wat is a thermal?
It is a column of rising air, usually caused by heat rising.
I WANT YOUR JOBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The wings seem to be so weak
Needs a carbon wing joiner, its got way too much wing flex.
lol that first landing...wasn't perfect.
i just realized, it must suck to mow that lawn.....
I had one of these for one single flight, it flew well for a few minutes 'till it got destructive flutter & I lost it in flight, shame the design was great quality was poor:-(
21g in a plane that big?!!? in a 27inch plane i built i needed 60g :O
Dave looks like he is going to die. Hot Hot Hot
David...
Ratty Likez Tomato...
Undead A-man Saltgurka...
Konny Klarsson bostongurka...
put on a scary baeball cap for a day, 100% sunblock on face!
Right?
Left?

PopsGaming left
For a While Now center
M9199bro up?
@t28trojan1 yeah, something that can shoot fireworks
Excellant!!!!!
Josh seemed pretty sad you started without him
@richardwebb2112 Yep, I'm aware. And I'm disappointed it's become a strictly Hobby King show. Would be nice if they found some other sponsors.
Bro my uncle has a Vebtus on the Chilean Valpo Airport
Has anyone successfully installed an FPV camera on this bird?
guy's we haven't really seen any thurmals or stuff.
bring into back
check out David's FPV Space Glider video! watch?v=rpBnurznFio
RC glider released from a weather balloon at 17.2 mi high. Amazing footage, the Earth's curvature is dramatic.
This plane look like a copy of a Multiplex Solius
David needs sunblock!!!!
They all need sunblock and Tilley hats. Otherwise expect skin cancer down the road...DAMHIK.
Now go and fly the 100% scale!
david's face is sun burned
it's going to take 4 weeks to get my slow stick going😠😠😠😠
I'm sure it's already going but you can relate to my pain, I'm waiting a week and a half for my Dx6i and UMX as3xtra and a kk2 board to come in the mail...
+MrAjw31213 not a plane, but I got a quad in a hobby shop and it took 2 weeks to get it all working.
+Cliporis I have my ZMR 250 sitting on my desk and that's what is waiting for the kk2 board... It's been sitting there for 3 weeks
damn those wings are tiny
I miss the long intro
Both of you look like you fell asleep in the tanning bed :o
It looks like rosacea, not sunburn
I noticed Josh walked in & interrupted you just as you started talking about having to fill in a section of the tail with glue and never went back to that. Almost appeared staged lol. But anyways why are the servos grumbling? Any RC aircraft builder knows that noisy servos are an accident waiting to happen.
