Kindness might sound like a cliche' thing but honestly a kind man's perspective is all we need to surpass the boundaries of shrewdness. Sprouts is awesome!!
Wow! Was initially just looking for more of a "how to/to-do" type video on kindness and compassion but instead this was a "why you should/this is why" video on kindness and compassion. Remarkable. Thank you.
Nowadays I have developed a behavior of being non-judgmental, not taking things personally or looking things in others perspective to understand more, be more kind and show empathy ….for quite sometime it's helping me but I think I am taking things further and ignoring some truths which's also making me question my perspectives again ....am I ignoring the truth or facts for the sake of understanding?!! as you say learning by trying, failing and doing.....I shall keep my learnings. For all the good teachers that sent their students here THANK YOU!
In the universe, good or bad doesn't exist. You cannot point at something and call it immediately bad. Even somone who appears to be rude for no reason likely has a lot of mental and emotional issues they are not conscious of, and they would likely rather not want to be brought to light. Whatever the case is, be kind and try to understand those around you. Negativity spreads Negativity and kindness spreads kindness.
Kindness, compassion, and empathy are not only important to me, but they seem like nature to me. When I was younger, I remember asking my parents why people would make themselves feel bad on purpose by hurting other people's feelings, and I didn't understand that it doesn't make everyone feel bad to be mean. I know when I'm accidentally unkind or rude, I feel horrid about it and I assumed everyone else did as well. I still don't understand how for some, being mean makes them feel good, it's a completely alien concept to me. I like most people and try to be friends with them (even the ones who do things like make fun of my name) because everyone deserves kindness and compassion.
What about people like me who lack negative empathy? I couldn't care less about someone having a bad day, but I'll be smiling more than them when they tell about something that made them happy. I lack pity, sympathy, negative empathy and compassion. It really hurts me since I sometimes have no tact, but there is nothing I can do about it (I think). I'm very understanding, but I don't feel is basically what I'm trying to say (I'm still a pretty good guy I hope)
But if P.I.E (perspective is everything) then what if I perceive what you perceive as "kind" as actually wicked? Now what? You see, it isn't just perspective alone, it is also CON(SEQUENCE). The saying goes: you can ignore reality but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality. In other words, we can never change the "nature" of a thing no matter "how" we choose to view it; and what should be ultimately done then is this: putting our perspective to the "test". And exactly what 'test" should that be? It should be the test of whether our perspective lines up with the nature of what we are seeing; if it lines up, then we should expect continuous harmony (no death, no end); yet if it doesn't line up, then we should expect chaos (destruction, death, end). Perspective IS everything. . . only when we stay true to the essence and nature!!!
One thing Sprouts does not point out is that we can change our perspective if we wanted to. An example would be if you had a bad day. No one wanted to spend time with you and everything went wrong. Well it's possible to change that point of view. Instead of saying "Can't something go right today?!" you could say "At least I had delicious food and can go to my nice cozy home". We don't think of one situation, rather we think of multiple scenarios that can change our outcome. Only we as individuals have the chance to change our bad day to a good one.
Not particularly. There are some objective truths, like everyone is born (at least until vat babies become a thing) and everyone dies (I don't beleive in objective Morals, since morals is really just based on a perspective of a person). Being kind is "Sometimes" good; but would being kind to a serial killer who's killed hundreds be considered good? If you are "Too" good and start to forget about yourself is that objectively good? If you are good to the point of being considered a push over and anyone can take advantage of you is it objectively good? Again perspectives. As for Morality what is "morality"? Killing is bad right? Or is it? What makes killing bad? If it was a caveman what would morals mean to him? What would killing mean to a pshycopath who had no regards for other humans well being? Wouldn't that make morals not objective but more perspective? Rape is bad; or at least for the victim. But if the rapist didn't think so would raping be morally objective or perspective? Killing a child is bad. But what about if it's a child soldier? The enemies didnt find it morally wrong. Is a soldier in the wrong for killing a a child who intented to kill him and possibly his brother in arms? If society wasn't particularly well formed what would "morals" be but personal? Btw, I'm just referencing things I don't particularly beleive in any of the things said so read with a grain of salt.
J.L.A Thē Prød¡gy Objective morals are good or bad things that they are so regardless of people’s opinion. If someone kills an innocent child, is that good or bad, objectively? Even if the killer enjoys it? If the rapist thinks it is good to rape, does that mean that it is not objectively bad to rape someone?
No it doesn't. The act of not killing a child is actually as morally objective as it gets considering they were to be protected at all costs by most societies throughout history. But even then when people use child soldiers and don't find it morally wrong (maybe they do I don't know), can it really be objective?
In not saying its right for killing, raping or whatever. It's just the wording of objective. If you said "There are some moral values that can not be removed" or something along those lines then yeah of course. But saying it's objective is not really right. And not that a killer, rapist or whatever is wrong. In warfare back in the day morals like raping or not raping the wife of their enemies were not exactly profound, killing a slave wasn't either nor was the choice of leaving a baby outside for slavers like the romans did exactly right so again not objective. By all means I don't support any of the things I mentioned so don't think I sympathize for those people. Except maybe the people for kill for my safety like soldiers but even then...
And this is the cause of my overthinking... Could please help me.. I analyse every statement... What is right or wrong.. What to say or not, human behavior of talking n hypocrisy..and also i create several perspectives out of a quote... All this shit ruining my mind... Help if you can... An advice will be enough for me..!!
You sound like someone who can see always both sides. I’ve been there myself and still - till this day - can relate and know what you mean. I think the best we can do is trust that at the end, things will work out, regardless of what side of the coin is visible today. Hope that help! And yeah, maybe you want to try living in a Buddhist or Hinduis Country, secularist societies don’t play too well along with our mindset.

Hello Sprouts, I'm glad I found this channel because I find them very interesting. I've got a question, are there any books you would recommend? I usually read non-fiction, but topic & genre doesn't really matter a whole lot. :)
I recommend you this one: www.amazon.com/Learning-How-Learn-Spending-Studying/dp/0143132547 The author, Barbara Oakely, also made a very successful online course on Coursera.org called "Learning How to Learn". Its free and fantastic. Another book I recommend is this from Tina Seelig: www.goodreads.com/book/show/6081261-what-i-wish-i-knew-when-i-was-20

Kindness is a survival strategy based in humanitys communal nature. Now there are more people we can exploit others without being kind👺😂

implying that being kind is good. According to your own logic, this is just a perspective, not inherently true.
Colors are electromagnetic waves of the appropriate frequencies. They are not a matter of perspective.
Not up to the mark
