Splash Mountain is definitely of my favorite childhood memories. Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to say goodbye and ride it one last time :'( So I'm really thankful for your video and catching the vibe
Thank you K for taking the time & energy to document this most important day for posterity. Even though I am sad, and stated my opinion recently as to why this ride should not be closed, I am left with a new feeling; one of pride. People made the ‘pilgrimage’ for one last splash; one last happy scream down the 50 foot plunge. I am so proud of you, and all of them for doing this. I was especially struck by those who stayed on the bridge and cheered those coming down the slide as if they were returning heroes. This special ride…this special place has in it something that makes us feel young & happy and makes us smile; even after returning home. We are blessed, and should be eternally grateful that such a place exists…even if we’re not a kid anymore. 🍿🍿🍿

HIstory in the making. I read it was the longest line for any ride ever. This is a perfect example of Disney making a mistake closing Splash Mountain. I wonder how many people tried to pull the signs off while in the queue. 20:30, kind of like "The End." :( Two thumbs up to 4K for enduring the line. Thank you!!!
@@Liz.R A new land or a new park would be great Liz, but we can't expect that to happen anytime soon. As long as Disney parks are making money by packing us in like cattle they won't invest in a large expansion. Like Lori stated, it would be nice to put a new ride such as the Frog in Magic Kingdom instead of dumping Splash.

This video really captures the entire day! I was there yesterday to ride for my last time and I will never forget this day. The people were so happy to get to ride one last time and so many special little things happened. While I was in line, everybody started singing zip a dee doo dah and it was very special. I will definitely miss splash mountain forever and now I just have to find out how to feel more excited for tianas bayou adventure. Amazing video once again for one of the biggest days in Disney parks history!
Goodbye to a legend: one of the best Log Flume rides anywhere. So well designed, such amazing theming. I really hope that Disney's new Tiana overlay does it justice.
Such a great video. To have this in the archives is huge. There are generations that never saw Mr Toad’s and never will. Now people can refer to this to remember this version of the ride. Well done!

A sad day, but nice to see the ride getting so much love and support, especially at the end of the video. When Tower of Terror closed at Dreamworld in Australia it was a similar vibe. RIP :(
A lot of fun memories of this attraction. But excited for what's to come. I just hope Disney reconsider adding Mama Odie's boat back to the top. Every ride needs a weenie as Walt said. Fantastic vid 4K.

I’m going to miss Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah so much! This is a beautiful video, but I’m so sad about this. At least we can still ride it at Disneyland for now. I’m amazed that anybody can make it to rope drop at the magic kingdom. So much transportation just to get to the gate! From Disneyland, I cross one street from my hotel to security. It takes 4 minutes 😂

For shiggles looked for an early a.m live steam & a small channel rode in 27 impressive minutes from rope drop but their video is just ride; no details, like who's in those clothesline pictures? (I'd gotten there at 7:30ish like DLP LOL) Loved Brer Frog🐸from the other day & found he is voiced by Fresh Prince's James Avery & I think we'll see that drumming porcupine again. Unreal, YOU were the last LL-backward boat edition LOL?? U just wanted people cheering for you! Heard the last/last person (after maintenance) was an original CM. There’s definitely a solid chance a lot of the those animatronics will look almost the same for the retheme. I actually wasn’t the last LL, but was one of the last lol. Hopefully there will be a lot of people present when the Splash Mountain at Disneyland Resort shuts down. As for the one in Tokyo, one can hope that it will stay. RIP Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom! We will all miss you!
The one In Tokyo Disneyland will remain for now as it looks brand new and just amazing at the moment, there's no need for refurbishment or a whole new ride at Tokyo Disneyland as it looks perfectly fine. Hope it stays there for years to come.
oh my goodness…the crowds!!! BUT would not expect any less for a beloved attraction being retired. (happily was there in the parks, Epcot and DHS, the next day!!! Was great seeing you at DHS, 4K!!!). Sadness for losing a much loved attraction…but also hoping the cast members are being well treated in their repositioning.
Yes, this truly was such a unique day. It was an extremely emotional day for sure! I recognize some of the former Splash cast members that are now working other positions in Frontierland(BTM, Country Bears) .I enjoyed our meet up as well Rick!! It’s always a pleasure, thanks so much😃

Always some lame reason to get rid of things nowadays. They 100% should’ve kept this and build the new attraction nearby. Lots of good memories on this ride
i am going to miss this ride bc it is a classic, however i totally get why they’re changing it and am very happy we’re getting a princess and the frog ride bc it’s really long overdue. i can’t wait to see what the imagineers do with it
I'm definitely going to miss the original Splash Mountain‼️💦⛰️🪵 When I first went to DisneyWorld 4 years back, my family & I rode Magic Kingdom's version once during nighttime as we were there in the summer! I'm definitely sure that Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be amazing!
I got to ride the ride last day we rope dropped and got on the ride in the first 30 minutes will truly miss it it was my fav ride at Disney in general.
if Disney had actually cared about this attraction, it wouldn’t have allowed to operate in such poor quality. Eventually the only remaining Splash will be at TDR which goes to show that proper maintenance & some TLCs can go a long way for classic attractions.
I KNEW it was too late for the magic kingdom to fix any of their audio animatronics in time for Splash Mountain’s closure. Fixing all of those animatronics would have taken a long time and there wouldn’t be enough time before this ride closes for good to make way for something SO MUCH more culturally sensitive
Can't bear seeing it close.... but the most bitter pill to swallow in all of this, is they STILL didn't bother fixing the famous splash water cannon on the main drop!! Make the whole exterior interior! Disgusting. Show it some class and respect on its last day! 😔🙄😏

you know ive never been to any disney or universal park. Me being a roller coaster and dark ride enthusiast I am sad this is going away. Lets just open Tianas Bayou Adventure with open arms
I never thought this cute ride was a racist one. All I saw was cute animals and happy song being placed. Going to miss this ride, but it is always nice to see different new things to ride too! I miss the Great Movie ride, but Mickey and Minnie's runaway railroad was just as nice.
Only splash mountain _as we know it._ It's a reskin, but the ride functions basically the same way. Either way, I'm glad to see it go. Because Splash Mountain was getting a little stale, for me. [no offense to all the SM lovers out there. I'm just glad Tiana will finally be getting _something_ after all these years.]
I very much appreciate the great work done by 4K! He went through a lot to give us a final view of a timeless and wonderful ride that should have stayed (after some much needed maintenance). A great ride woked for no good reason - very sad...
I, like almost everyone else, is upset that they closed this. I do expect Tiana’s Splash Mountain (that’s what I’m going to call it until further notice) to be a great ride. What upsets me more is they closed this ride before that headache inducing, single track excitement of a ride in Tomorrowland called the Speedway!
I like Tiana’s Splash Mountain much more than Bayou Adventure! But unfortunately I doubt they’ll change the name at this point. Whatever happens the retheme, it’ll be a fun ride for sure. Lol, the Speedway definitely should have been changed long ago. Thanks for watching as always Craig!
It breaks my heart that the retheme is simply terrible. Many animatronics are just screens, doesn’t tell an actual story, Special Spice is NOT Zipadee doo dah, the vultures in the end were replaced with a mama odie screen. How disappointing, and I can’t stand modern Disney!!

the signs said 220 minutes all day long but the actual wait was like an hour 20 minutes. Not too bad.

Huge mistake on Disney’s part. I love Princess and the Frog too. But I’d rather see an additional new ride instead of taking down Splash
I'm thinking creating a whole new land would be a better solution for a variety of ills at the park.

you know ive never been to any disney or universal park. Me being a roller coaster and dark ride enthusiast I am sad this is going away. Lets just open Tianas Bayou Adventure with open arms

Why is is being closed?
I never thought this cute ride was a racist one. All I saw was cute animals and happy song being placed. Going to miss this ride, but it is always nice to see different new things to ride too! I miss the Great Movie ride, but Mickey and Minnie's runaway railroad was just as nice.

Only splash mountain _as we know it._ It's a reskin, but the ride functions basically the same way.
Either way, I'm glad to see it go. Because Splash Mountain was getting a little stale, for me. [no offense to all the SM lovers out there. I'm just glad Tiana will finally be getting _something_ after all these years.]
I very much appreciate the great work done by 4K! He went through a lot to give us a final view of a timeless and wonderful ride that should have stayed (after some much needed maintenance).

Very sad.
I, like almost everyone else, is upset that they closed this. I do expect Tiana’s Splash Mountain (that’s what I’m going to call it until further notice) to be a great ride.
What upsets me more is they closed this ride before that headache inducing, single track excitement of a ride in Tomorrowland called the Speedway!
I like Tiana’s Splash Mountain much more than Bayou Adventure! But unfortunately I doubt they’ll change the name at this point. Whatever happens the retheme, it’ll be a fun ride for sure. Lol, the Speedway definitely should have been changed long ago. Thanks for watching as always Craig!

It breaks my heart that the retheme is simply terrible. Many animatronics are just screens, doesn’t tell an actual story, Special Spice is NOT Zipadee doo dah, the vultures in the end were replaced with a mama odie screen. How disappointing, and I can’t stand modern Disney!!
