The OG formula was the best. Honestly this is an issue for me buying homebrew products. a great product might gets reformulated. And then when it no longer works for you, you need to spend $$ again trying out, hunting for a new product. The cycle repeats. I eventually moved to regular salon products for consistency and availability.
Hey thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately we had far many more complaints about the original formula (from 2017?) so something had to be done about it. You see many homebrewers and large companies change their formulas over time because as we receive feedback and the formulas are used more, things that you want or need to improve upon may come up. We admit, it's far more noticeable with smaller brands though. If you do happen to place an order with us for something else, feel free to put in a sample request in the order comments and if we have it, we will include it. Thanks!
This seems interesting. The older original clay with the bay rum scent was one of my favorite products of all time, when you guys reformulated it something about the new formula gave my hair a lot of tangled ends and i had a harder time working with it. Do you think the level of dryness has changed in the newest formulation?
bring back the old formula! I loved the og formula. the new formula is drier, therefore harder to apply to the hair and does not offer as much hold and control as the old one. please bring back the original formula, it was much better!
Hi Eric, I noticed that you applied the clay directly on wet hair without any pre-styler or heat protectant. Does the clay pomade protect the hair from heat damage? I've the previous formula which I love so much & i apply it after blow drying with a heat protectant.
I have very curly blonde hair and the matte paste was to dry for me and had too mach hold. When I combed through my hair it got really straight and pretty much stayed that way. I didn‘t have this problem with very wet, lighter products. Basically anything that tugs a lot is not for me. Do you think the clay could work?
@@enterprise8979 The Clay Pomade is definitely a lighter and less sticky feeling product. It does get a bit dry though as it still is a clay but it's definitely less than hold than Matte Paste.
@@Arcadianofficial Ok that sounds logical. I‘ve been using the Hybrid Cream Clay which you also manufacture. How does the Clay Pomade compare? It‘s less dry and has lower hold I can imagine?
anything is good but i love the first edition's bay rum scent, now there is nowhere to find any good product with bay rum scent anymore :( maybe can you do different scents in a batch in the future ?!
Very nice..not as sticky in palms on the breakdown as last formula. Physically it feels like one of the Flagship Blackship wb pomade (the one with grapeseed oil..) on the scoop. That was the moment of truth i thought..as that one was a fail for me. Scent is similar but “slightly” toned down..not as “pinesol-ish”. Will buy more in the future..my rating 10/10👍
Definitely not. If anything the formula has been cleaned up a little by removing hydrocarbon wax and replacing it with something more sustainable as well as taking out some polyethylene glycol base ingredients/emulsifiers.

I'm kinda with you there. I found the OG iteration so much better. The scene alone was tremendous.
I agree %100
hair came out top notch. got any links for that blow-dryer and brush?
Its a Dyson blow dryer (quite expensive) & a vent brush (search for denman brush)
@@anishelnino thanks, Anish!
Thanks Patrick! And yes Anish is correct, it is a Dyson blow dryer and a cheap vent brush from anywhere.
bring back the old formula!

Wish to God you guys would bring the Rum scent back to this product
We might!

Also I apply to dry hair because if I apply to wet hair they don‘t curl as much and retain the straighter look hair has when wet.

Had no idea you guys started a channel! Subbed 😎
Yep! We aren't super consistent with it but we are trying to change that. Thanks for subbing!
Ow yeah 🔥🔥🔥
We can buy it when my friend?
Within the next couple of week it'll be live!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Happy to hear it's working so well.

As for the “ingredient availability” and “trying to keep it similar to the last formula”, so it is basically a downgrade from the previous formula?
Definitely not. If anything the formula has been cleaned up a little by removing hydrocarbon wax and replacing it with something more sustainable as well as taking out some polyethylene glycol base ingredients/emulsifiers.
