Driving from Colorado to Illinois i stopped in N Platte NE for the night. Being a news junkie i was going to relax and watch the news. Born and raised in Nebraska here. I’ve traveled to about 20 states, live in Colorado currently and enjoyed all types of fun, but there is still a special place in my heart for a good ol’ tractor pull! 😅. YeeHaw!

It’s like NYC people, especially from Manhattan. They instantly dominate the conversation with streets, addresses, and places i have no concept of. At least that was true until i had several years of being able to go down there from time to time.

Former WI resident here, left in '09 for VA, never going back either. Just boring, it is what it is, will always be where I am from, but no longer or will ever be home to me again. You sure do have it right that WI residents just never move, with the exception of FL, they go to FL in droves too. I would suggest that the MKE Brewers be put on the list, they are the biggest disappointing thing in that state, come playoff time, bust every year. So many friends of mine that still live in WI, are so big on this team year over year, and then bang, like clockwork, their done, stick a fork in them, their done, better luck next year.
You're right--Nebraskans are sensitive to criticism. I commented on a video about Omaha and I found out that the residents there are overly defensive of their city. It isn't a very interesting place. I don't think some of them have traveled elsewhere though. I liked the town of Lincoln, but mostly Nebraska is farmland and small towns---a wonderful life for most of the people there, but not to everyone's taste. Believe it or not, there are ski areas in Iowa. BTW I live in St. Louis, Missouri and I have to drive 50 miles east to Illinois if I want to find a beach. th-cam.com/video/axdyBCBXHr4/w-d-xo.html

Just so you know, Gordie Howe is important to Canadians too, and the bridge is an international one. And we Canucks probably threatened a stern, letter-writing campaign to have the bridge named after Gordie...

The gonorrhea law is not uncommon, testing for STD at marriage is to help stop kids being born when the mother has an STD. Until the 1980s they poured silver nitrate over new born babies eyes, now they use a couple antibiotics.

I'm surprised the WI job market was seen as a negative. It's not as good as the MN or Northern Illinois...but is way better than say Nebraska, Iowa, Southern Illinois, or Indiana. As for Wisconsin not having downhill skiing? Wisconsin has the 3rd most ski resorts (33) in the nation! The comments about WI, Nebraska and IA being flat isn't very accurate. WI has 31% flat land...making it the hilliest state in the Midwest (unless you count Missouri or PA...those are hillier). Illinois is the second flattest state in the union. The second hilliest state in the midwest is a three way tie between Nebrakaska, Ohio and Iowa. Remember, Iowa has the Driftless area in the northeast plus the Missouri and Mississippi river corridors. And western Nebraska has some gorgeous foothills. You should do a video on the flattest and least flattest states...but based on actual data. It's actually quite interesting and burst a lot of stereotypes. Lot of what you said was right though...like all the smelly farms. What really stinks from the farms more than the manure though is all the trash and woodsmoke the farmers burn...that is way worse.
The name "Michigan" comes from the Algonquin word Mishigamaw, which means "big lake" or "great water". The name may also come from the words "Michi", meaning "great", and "Gama", meaning "water"
