Track: Living in a flyover state.
I own the rights to use this track on my TH-cam channel with permission from the writer and performer, Spencer Morris.
I should probably mention that the display is at an angle on the boombox so you cant see it well straight on, hence, it did not show up in the video but from an angle it is sharp and easy to read.
Whenever I go thrifting, legacy electronics are something I always look for. A few years ago, at the peak of boombox archeology & mania, the sales prices were riddicamus for even the Realistic(Radio Shack) units.
Thanks for the review, man.
And.....I'm not old....I'm vintage 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
You age like a fine wine DJ! Thanks for watching, brother and man, those vintage boom box prices are nuts anymore.
Very nice. I love 90's. Stereo cassette music was great and still is. Digital music is crispy..
I agree. It’s missing an element that was there on vinyl and cassette
Just bought myself one of these for my vintage birthday gift 🎁 still boxed up saving it for my special day next week.
Thank you for the review! 🎊
Thanks for watching and while the audio quality isn’t as awesome as that old JVC or Sony you rocked back it the 80s or 90s, the ability to push one button and enjoy the radio certainly is!
Thats a nice little radio. Back in the day i had a JVC PC-X130 really loved that thing . Still have the manual for it lol.
Right on! I forgot to mention JVC and Aiwa made some awesome stereos and boomboxes back in the day!
What a cool video. Nostalgia 101. Also in need of a play option for old media . That Jodeci CD just upped your cool factor with me brother. I've outgrown my casanova days but it's still cool. Great Job 👍🏽
Thanks for watching. I just can't bring myself to lose the CDs or Cassettes. I spent a boatload of the few pennies I made during my formative years on that audio collection and I plan to take them with me to the grave, LOL. As for music I listened to everything as MTV played a good variety of genres in the 90s so I grew up with everything from classic rock, to reggae, punk, ska, hip hop, R&B, gangsta rap, rock, grunge, you name it...I probably have a CD of it. Now if you will excuse me I'm gonna go play some Nemesis, Droppin' the bass and see with the speakers on this boombox can do!
@@coffeecomputersandmore2300 Totally Awesome & Totally RAD brother. Ditto on all of the above. Wow, that term "brother from another mother" may actually have some weight. Take care 😎✌🏽
Been a while since I've seen an old school Ghetto Blaster. Spent many the Friday night as a kid making requests to the radio station and trying to record songs. Don't forget to keep a #2 pencil handy to fix your cassettes.
I have plenty of those and about 3 blank cassettes I have yet to open. I dunno, those may have some eBay value these days!
I would buy this now if it had AM radio.
I saw this on ebay and almost bought it. My 1996 Sony isn't going to last forever. Phillips is a pretty reliable brand. My Philips dvd/Blu-ray player has given me no issues. I also have a Philips electric shaver.
That's a knife 😂
Thanks for the review. Gonna buy one of these tomorrow.
Nice review! No great loss having no recording facility on that cassette deck as they are that cheap and nasty Tanishin mechanism which would make very average recordings on a setup like that.Otherwise a decent unit.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
What is a CD player?
5:55 will answer your question, LOL!
The one at the end was a ghetto blaster.

You didn't mention the "tweeters". The specs mention only 2 speakers. I'm assuming those are fake tweeters. How's the sound quality in the upper frequency range? I can't imagine those speakers getting above 10-12khz if that.
Good point on the tweeters. While I wouldn’t say that this boombox plays exceptionally crisp high tones, according to the Amazon Q&A the tweeters are functional. The manual may mention the htz coverage of the speakers and I didn’t check the range. I will say that the sound is clear and fairly crisp. I listen to a lot of jazz CDs and they sound pretty good. May not as awesome as some of our Sony, Aiwa or JVC/Panasonic boomboxes from back in the day but the sound is acceptable by my standards. It also depends on the media you are playing from. My 30 year old cassettes sound decent.
Currently unavailable from Amazon.
Hopefully it comes back soon!
@@coffeecomputersandmore2300 Its back on Amazon! Just got one for my birthday! I'm a bit disappointed with the sound thus far, kind off mushy/tinny a bit like when the speakers are shot! A bit poor for me particularly with CD's. I've been playing the Everly Bros quite a bit, which is pretty high on treble as it is! I've I turned the volume up with that, which is pretty awful. I'm still tinkering though, hopefully I'll sort it?
