Turns out his giving soul was as beautiful as his voice. Of course these things come out once he has passed. Sadly he did not treat himself with the same love and compassion. A lesson for us all. Its still such a chest tightening painful loss over two years later. He is a musical legend and a personal idol.

It was at the height of his post-Wham I'm-a-serious-artist-me phase. Great talent but the guy really needed to get over himself. (See also: X Factor Christmas 2009, when he sang some festive dirge, and literally everyone was thinking "do Last Christmas for Christ's sake")
You need to follow your own advice here and 'get over yourself'. There is a reason George chose to honor other artists that day, and if you think, like really hard, about it you might figure it out...
Iam really happy he also did some covers at the height of his vocal prime. Makes his legacy very diverse. And I love the other songs too (he had a good pick for covers). But this also in hindsight, I can imagine in that time period you just wanted Faith and him swinging his but ☺️
George actually said he didn't want it to be all about him, rather to focus on the issues. That's the kind of person he was. At the time I was an obsessed teen but I was delighted that for that particular concert he performed songs no one had heard him do before, that were much more relevant than his own material at the time. Of course he could have sung the phone book and I would have loved it😊

It's actually a rather interesting song, particularly because Stevie Wonder played it entirely on the legendary Yamaha GX-1 synthesiser (officially an electronic organ, but let's not quibble). But what do you find bad about the song? Stevie Wonder isn't exactly a bad musician.
Maybe you should find out the history before you comment. It was a song from Stevie Wonder's album ( Songs in the Key of Life). GM sang it because he obviously was a very caring person.
