Acts of Desperation sounds very similar to The Pisces by Melissa Broder. I just finished it and absolutely loved it. Might pick up Acts of Desperation next.
I LOVEEEE The Pisces. Very different books as The Pisces is more unhinged and comical but definitely that same trope of romantic obsession. I hope you like it!
Love that you’ve titled the video chapters, it’s super helpful! Added a bunch of these to my list, I found your channel a few days ago and I’ve been loving the books I’ve read from it so far :)
Okay children listen up. Meg and I are besties and we've established she's my mother even though I'm older than her. Don't ask details. Point being, we have pretty different tastes in books and often seek different things, so when our tastes line up you KNOW the book is a banger. In this video fully agree with her on Boy Parts and Ripe - dazzling works of fiction. Mother doesn't always know best but when she's right she is RIGHT. Xoxo
This is my favorite wrap-up from you, keep the 5 stars coming! 🥳 I own most of these books but haven’t read all of them will be moving up Ripe, Boy Parts, and Acts of Desperation on my tbr. You also sold me on the Whitney Cummings & Chandler Morrison books.
Love this for you! I've added many of these to my TBR list because of you! I finally read Survivor by J.F. Gonzales at the end of April and WOW it blew me away
Two of my fav books in april were "My Friend Natalia" by Laura Lindstedt and "New Animal" by Ella Baxter, i made them a diy trilogy with Nightbitch which I know you didnt like, but I think the other two would be a better fit for you.
Someone once described Less Than Zero to me as "It made me feel numb as clay." lol... I got Mique's new one on kindle and can't wait for that Chandler Morrison.
My favorite book I’m currently reading is Brother. But Misery is pretty freaking good lol. I identify with the writer’s situation a little too much. Not to the extent obviously, but still. I agree, I think ratings and awards are crazy overrated.

My favorite book I read in April was "When I Die" by Asher Dark.
That one is on my list to read soon!
I love that book! It was intense
"Less Than Zero is a book about nothing..." How very apt!
Someone once described Less Than Zero to me as "It made me feel numb as clay." lol... I got Mique's new one on kindle and can't wait for that Chandler Morrison.
Hahaha love that.
Omg why don’t you go kiss Chandler Morrison or something 😂

Both are sooooo good!!
My favorite in April was 11/22/63 by Steven King!
I still need to read that one……one day lol
@ReadingWithMeg definitely need to be both in the mood for a long book and time travel shenanigans (also, surprisingly wholesome romance for King?)
Too bad the first book wasn't a physical book. I was looking forward to you yeeting it across the room 🤣
Hahaha I would have. Definitely not the kindle though 😂
@@ReadingWithMeg 🤣
