Thanks for the review. I've been looking at this particular router and trying to find a decent review to go off of. Thanks, it was very helpful.
Your Pixel 6 Pro doesn't support Wifi 7. You can't test speeds of Wifi 7 without a Wifi 7 client like the One Plus 11 5G. Yes Wifi 7 still uses 5 GHz and 6 GHz like 6E but it has Multi Link Operation (MLO) so it can use several bands 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 6 GHz simultaneously. Your tests are testing it only in 6E mode and therefore do not properly represent the potential of the router. Someone watching this review and seeing only the performance of 6E will be mislead.
I wish I had the OnePlus 11 to test it out. But I did the test with the Pixel 6 pro, Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 12 pro. Similar results with all
Good point. I was thinking, where are the wifi 7 test.
Galaxy s24 ultra supports wifi 7 @@htpoint
I can’t believe there’s no other reviews on this device, other than this one Way to go High Tech Point!
Thanks for watching 😊
Yes there is a channel named : CareyHolzman that has a review of it
Too expensive. Only a knob would buy it.
@_nom_ what do you mean "a knob?
@@aboznefr2012 did you receive yours yet?
Great Review. I ordered one as well and waiting for it to arrive, next month :) It gives me high hopes of improving my connection speeds across the apartment.
Great review, thanks mate
Looks like we’re gonna have to buy this soon, like 3-5 years from now. For now I’m happy with my WiFi 6E router. Hahaha!
Great review! Do you have a recommendation as to what modem to use with it? I know it has to be compatible with your ISP but wanted to know what I would need to actually utilize this router
amazing review, wondering will this be 3 ssid, one for each band or one ssid to handle all 3 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz and 6 ghz band?
Thanks for the review. It helped me make a decision on which router to buy. I ended up buying TP-Link AXE16000 Quad-Band WiFi 6E Router.
Would have liked to seen testing on the LAN side of it, to verify you do get full 10gb over it.
You have a like from me, but I have a question, what is that wifi tool you're using to see the channel width and so on ?
Very informative. Can you advise if you can keep the SSID's for 2.4 , 5 , 6/7 separated. I know the DECO range forces you to merge the 2.4 and 5 which is a showstopper for me.
not sure how you'd be able to use multiband functionality on multiple SSID names....
That combo feature is called SmartConnect, which you can turn OFF. How many SSIDs you can create after that, I don't know yet. I'm getting the younger brother, Archer BE550 with all 2.5G ports at $269.
I just got the BE800. I have multiple SSIDs set for all 3 bands.
Doubles as a optic network terminal since it has a spf too right?
Can I ask what the difference is between this and the Deco BE65//85? For example if the Deco is used as a mesh router
Can use for main mesh to support mesh with deco x50?
Wonder what is the throughput on the 10GB to make this router worth the price.
I would like to have seen test done all the ethernet ports I have seen some of these routers with the 10 Gb port, but don’t have the full performance of 10 Gb
I order mine from ebay yesterday..and i am looking forward to testing it with my 1gig ftth😊
Would love to hear back from you, let me know what you think, also on the range test.
@htpoint Of course I will share my experience with you
Did u
@@aboznefr2012 WELL??
So what's your experience?
why were you getting lower speeds? What internet service speed level do you have?
Was it really a good idea to keep the antennas internal for this router? There is a range reason why the antennas are external to the unit on most other routers...
It would have been nice to have an external option for extra antennas, I also have the Asus et12 with internal antennas and the range is very good on that one as well pretty much the same range as you would get with external antennas.
Did you even update the router first? I also wanted to see the connector of the spf
Yes that was the first thing I did is update the firmware on the router. I can get some images of the spf and post them :)
The SPF hole is easily seen using Google, it's a standard plug and play with the right cable, either copper or fiber.
Your results for the 6GHz tests are consistent with those expected of that band. The higher the frequency, the shorter the range it will be and the lower its ability to go through walls. So yes, 6GHz can be very much faster than 2.4GHz and 5GHz but only when the device is close to the router. At longer distances, and/or through more walls, 2.4GHz is actually more reliable though a lot slower.
In any case, Wifi 7 is, as of now, still not official yet so the standards are still subject to change. And as some in the comments here have pointed out, the speed results seen here do not represent to true capabilities of this router as the device used to connect to the router does not support Wifi 7. But still a good reveal of this router overall.
Can I move the router to different rooms after setup or do I have to keep it plugged into the router?
you can move it where you want as any other modem router, even after setup
Does web interface include all configurations u can make or do you need to have mobile app ?
Yes, the web has ALL the configurations there, likely the app doesn;t.
@@SpaceCadet4Jesus ok, since some TP-Link devices do have lot more options In phone app
I want 6 months usage test. I am about to buy - if I find it anywhere - this router - DUE to ports not the wifi, I need as many 10GbE and 2,5GbE as I can buy but also with wifi. Please tell us about 'freezing' of this router when around 70 devices are connected, what about 'auto-rebooting' ? Is that fixed?
I’m just curious what’s the sqft coverage the site doesn’t include it does it say it on the box?
SqFt coverage is a misnomer. Yes, it might reach 3,000 sqft in a football field, but in homes, not so much. I ignore the open field rating.
Ciao, suppoirta il dual one?
Nice Router I Want it
if i connect hdd or ssd as usb storage to act as home server will it go sleep mode if i dont use .Also how is the file transfer speed from usb storage
Good question. Nobody likes a sleepy drive.
Iperf3 tests matters more than your internet speed. Thanks for sharing!
Iperf3 shows 6Gb with my Xiaomi AX7000
@@cia4gent128 dang, 6Gb!? Nice!!
Can anyone share information about AC Plug? Is a 110/220v ready for Europe (just like Asus router)?
What is its CPU? Is it good?
Which router do you have again? the BE800 or the BE19000?
I don't understand, WiFi 7 isn't finalized. Will this router be compatible with the finalized WiFi 7?
He is also using it only in 6E mode because the Pixel 6 Pro doesn't support Wifi 7 and its most important feature Multi-Link Operation that allows the usage of several bands e.g. 5 GHz and 6 GHz simultaneously. He could have bought a One Plus 11 5G that has Wifi 7 to test it as the best network reviewer DongKnowsTech has done.
How did you get it because every where I look says coming soon ???
Best Buy has them and the Wifi 7 Deco models too.
how much memory does the router have?
A little too early for me to have Wi-Fi 7 as this thing doesn't even have external antennas. I'll stick with 6E for now as I have last year's high-end model.
thanks for review , I wonder if you have smart TV and you could test wifi speed with this router on your TV
I have LG OLED 2023 , LG ethernet port limited to 10/100, my connection is 1Gb/s not happy with ethernet port not going further than 87 mb/s and on wifi5G (wifi AX both my router and TV )max I get is 170 mb/s
I would appreciate if you have any smart TV you do test for me with this router next to TV
also in case of power outage does router automatically back to internet in case we are not at home for a while for security cameras connected to it , some router in market wont and we need to reconnect them back again which are pointless for above reason Thank you :)
You stated "2023 LG OLED like rather than saying the model number, but the Plugable 2.5Gbps USB-A/USB-C Ethernet Adapter is compatible with *most* LG OLEDs.
*SOME* of them only have USB 2.0 so you'd be limited to 480 Mbps theoretical (~36-40MBps) and the ones with USB3 do not have the driver to unlock the full 2.5Gb, but rather function at gigabit.
My LG TV is 77OLED G2PSA , I have tested ethernet USB adaptor it wont pass 300mbs as you mentioned, USBs are USB2 , i am looking into this particular wifi7 , even my tv wifi is wifi 6 but I hope Iget less latency & freezing on 5Ghz band with this new guy plus future proofing @@tim3172
is the parental control is free
I wonder why the upload speeds are low rho
if going through concrete 2.4Ghz offers better coverage in high density compared to 5Ghz and above
Have you tried the ASUS axe16000? Based on what you are describing it seems the asus will beat the be800.
I haven't had the chance, but I think you might be right especially when it comes to the signal. The only thing I wish the Asus had is at least the 2.5g ports
@High Tech Point well it has one 2.5Gb or dual 10Gb or link aggregation foe the 1Gb but yeah....even though I don't need more than what it has it would be nice to not have still 1Gb ports lol
What's the app you use? On your phone
I used Speedtest by Ookla, analiti
@@htpoint thanks :)
How connect internt
Ok. This or the asus 16000?
Considering how big the router is you think they would be able to include the power supply inside the unit instead of having a giant brick. I have the AmpliFi Alien and they did a great job with the design.
Good point, but at the same time having a power supply inside the devices would generate even more heat inside the device. 10 G NICs generate a lot of heat. And the computer and associated components needed to run the router also generate heat too.
It's not about heat but interface from power supply
@@youtubeview4354 I still think it would be more about the extra heat generated inside the case than interference. I have a 10 PCIe card inside my PC right next to the power supply and close to the GPU and interference is not a problem from either device.
Sorry I don't believe it's heat or interference. My AmpliFi Alien is one of the better Wi-Fi 6 routers on the market and it has an integrated power supply. Prior to that I used Apple routers and they all had integrated power supplies. This isn't the 90's they can shield any kind of interference and components are small enough they don't draw the same heat like they use to. On top of that there are plenty of cooling techniques they can use. This just seems like lazy design given the size.
@@ShawnLangford Possible, but most routers do have an external brick instead of an internal power supply. The one you mentioned only has 1 G NICs, there is a very big difference in the heat that a 1 G NIC vs what a 10 G NIC generates. It can be a combination of many things and it might even boil down to it is easy and cheaper to have an external power supply.
This looks super cool, but the fact that the speed drops off so dramatically with distance feels kinda bad, especially given the $600 pricetag. Having to stay within line of sight kind of defeats the point of... you know... it being wireless.
The speed drops off dramatically because he has solid concrete walls, the worst test of wireless.
this is not a cable modem router combo..because that’s what I’m looking for..any suggestions as to what is the best one?
Does your phone even support wifi 6 or wifi 6e or wifi 7?
Yes I did the test on a google Pixel and also Galaxy s23 and PC using a wifi 6e, similar results. Unfortunately I didn't have anything that has Wifi7
@@htpoint amazing thanks the only phone that uses wifi 7 i think is one plus 11 bud it's amazing phone
Based on my latest research, the NETGEAR Nighthawk Tri-Band WiFi 7 Router (RS700S) and the TP-Link Tri-Band BE9300 WiFi 7 Router Archer BE550, are likely mislabeled or incorrectly advertised as Wi-Fi 7 routers. As of the current date, these routers do not comply with the Wi-Fi 7 standard, as Wi-Fi 7 is not expected to be available until 2024.
It working by sim card or no ?
No
8 months later, product still not released. :(
It's been on Amazon for some time now...
is anybody getting 10gbps from their cable modem?
I don't think they are that fast yet, if so you are paying some serious money for it, as in if you were a business that actually needed that type of speed. The 10G is more for a LAN, but it also future proofs that router as ISP supported speeds increase.
Only if Microsoft thought of this design for the Xbox Series X. I love the design
Its so big because they put the antenna's inside... 5/6Gbit channels do not get very efficient range, which is proof of just how massively overpowered the drivers and antenna's are for you to get what you have from a single unit.
While I am impressed with the hardwire specs and capabilities - the LED screen is REDICULOUS ..... why not have a nice OLED screen that is actually functional and much easier to read
Again this is a problem when showing speed tests. Someone needs to setup a local open speed test server connected with the highest through put port to see really wifi 7 speed numbers.
And get out of a concrete tomb.
I didn't know there was an RTX router
Ah ha!, I knew I wasn't the only one using that Password, Oh wait.... Uh oh...
No problem, it's all good. Uhh...where did you say you live again?
We have wifi 7 routers, dats cool but where the f are the wifi 7 adaptors?
thats a very good question, I was looking to purchase a wifi 7 adapter for my pc to test out the wifi7 capabilities but couldn't find one anywhere
I got better range with my ac3150 V2 on 2.4..that router got 1000mb on the 2.4.but still e800 nice router but too expensive. Other thing is by law it's forbidden too much sending power so almost every router is 200mwatt.E800 got no antenna s so that's why the low speeds.
The iPhone 11 supports 802.11ax Wi‑Fi 6 with 2x2 MIMO. That should mean that it is capable of connecting to a Wi-Fi network with up to 877 Mbps of bandwidth. This is much faster than your current Internet speed connection provided by your ISP.
He has 1.5Gb service which greatly exceeds the 866 ("877" LMAO) Mbps theoretical of Wi-Fi 6.
is TP-link owned by Asus ?
No I don't think so, because even the services and everything is different.
Jesus, why do guys with slow internet try to do these videos with a fast af router
it´s has been phased out..lol
It’s not the concrete it’s the rebar… always keep your WiFi at a high point
I put a wireless solution in a thick concrete walled house (inner walls are concrete too) to send signal to a NON-REBAR concrete brick garage. With the wireless inside the garage, you step outside the garage and the signal goes to -74. Ouch. The home walls are even denser. Had to opt for a unique solution on this one.
Nah, the subs bought it for you.
🤣
Internet speedtest is non-sense. If you want to check the real speed, copy gigabites files through your network between computers. If it was faster than LAN, then it is fast.
Doesn’t seem like many extra features for $600
Like he said in the review, having 2 10G ports and one of them being SFP+/RJ45 Combo WAN/LAN is what greatly increases the price of the router.
Is this a paid review?
Nop, bought it on Amazon
Two things to notice: First: you're Canadian, you use metric system; don't be a fool. Second: can't believe you're using bad/regular Internet connection to test a top-of-the-range wifi router speeds. Not good, sorry.
£1500 on Ali, NO thanks! 🤣🤣🤣
wtf is this review. show us the software not the moble app
I mean you can't test router by using internet speeds, that's just weird. I don't really care what internet speeds you get in where you live :D It seems like you are honestly pretty ignorant about routers. Also about the distance test, only way to do it fairly is in open space without obstructions, but even then it wouldn't really matter since this would be placed in building made of various materials.
Overall, review was just useless, maybe do some basic research first before reviewing a product.
Testing WiFi speed with Speedtest is just the stupidest thing TH-cam techbros do.
Thats the most common when someone is purchasing a router, I can go ahead and post some local speed tests as well and iPerf, let me know and I can get that done :) I will also be making another video more on that as well looking at the speeds more in depth also the lan speeds too.
@@htpoint but everyone view of internet is different. Iperf3, well likely be more typical for people.

good thing it supports mesh...
