Yup. This is how we all did it in 2004-2009. You just take a razor or scissors and cut at a angle down. No barber shop or hairstylist ever touched emo/scene kids hair during our Myspace years. We cut our own hair.
I was only little in 2004-2009 but generally what we do nowadays is find one friend who can cut scene/emo hair and they cut everyone's hair for them lmao

I've already tried pictures :( Once I asked to have a straight, like block fringe, I even brought in a picture of the thing I wanted....she cut it like a triangle, into my hair....The point was in the middle of my forehead...You can't trust anyone -.-' Going to the hairdresser's has become like my worst fear...

I love how you do it without originally having it pre-cut (if this makes sense) Because most videos I've seen they already have they're hair shaped with the choppy fringe and all that, so all they do is trim it, they don't start from scratch. Defiantly favoriting this video so I know how to do my fringe. It's one thing to do someone else's, but it completely different doing your own.xD

I had ONE barber in 08-09 who knew EXACTLY how to do a good base for me with a razor! As always, I would go home and fringe the edges even more! 🤣 Haven't found a barber since.

Going to to this when I get home, I have my scissors there, I had Realy bad curtains and I was sick of getting bullied for it so I started to flip it over my head and slowly started training a fringe after getting into the "style" so I cut it wayyyy to short on the fringe but luckily enough it growled into place and I got told of but my parents soon accepted it so for anyone who's scared" don't worry :)

I dyed my hair a bright pinky red and three of my friends dyed their hair bright aswell so now we are apparently in a bright hair gang cause we are only allowed natural colours at school so yeah apparently we are "rebels"

Going to to this when I get home, I have my scissors there, I had Realy bad curtains and I was sick of getting bullied for it so I started to flip it over my head and slowly started training a fringe after getting into the "style" so I cut it wayyyy to short on the fringe but luckily enough it growled into place and I got told of but my parents soon accepted it so for anyone who's scared" don't worry :)

Update on hairdressers... they’re catching on. We have evolved to the shag and I think that’s about as close as we’re gonna get.
I currently have a shoulder length hair with micro bangs and a bit of layers i cutted them my self lol. I REALLY want to have this hair 😭😭 but my mom said that no haircut until my bangs is long (it's not like she hates it, she actually loves it!)
