  • If you have a Sansui 8080 or 9090 in protection, yet the outputs are good, your problem is often the fusible resistors being open or changed value. This applies to the F-2436-1 driver board.
    The resistors you need to replace are as follows" R47, R48, R49 & R50 4.7 Ohm 1/4 Watt. R39 & R40 10 Ohm 1/4 Watt. R43 & R44 22 Ohm 1/4 Watt. R29 & R30 390 Ohm 1/4 Watt. Finally R41, R42, R45, R46 150 Ohm 1/4 Watt.
Now would be a great time to replace the caps on the driver board too.
If the outputs are damaged then you no doubt have more issues on the driver board as well. Avoid eBay output transistors. Most are Chinese counterfeits.

i can't understand why almost all tech posts focused on these "fusible resistors" ? big finds or what??? seemed to me they have nothing more to draw viewers' attention. my copy had regular resistors on board, two of them changed value a bit but still ok, i replaced them with "regulars". while i was still in the process to find out ways and means to fix the board, i bought two F-2436's which were from QRX-6001 per seller. they work too as " transition boards " on my 8080, and they don't have fusible resistors too. i want to add, sansui, just like marantz that i blasted, they were very inconsistent, they both in many spots assembled boards differently from design drawings and used different parts on board which might not be even mentioned in the schematic diagrams, such as two physical fuses on my 8080 copy. i also want to add, many (not all, of course not) posts just brag their work whith flipping shots, they don't really want show us how to how to deal with the issues.
