If you want to bypass rat poison then put up a few nesting boxes for owls. Nothing catches rats, mice like an owl and all done while you are in bed. Clean out the boxes periodically and place them so the whole yard is scanned by the birds.
Very informative video guys!! Daddy forge is so forward thinking it’s fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻 The homemade bait box is a great idea, shopping for different rat poison for a treat is 😂😂😂 !! And the Solar plan is a great idea!!
Thats very informative on the solar panels, i hope they come up with that idea here. It would be an idea to cover them open tanks, i got a land when i emptied the two 5000 litre tanks last year they fill from the roofwater and found a couple of r.. carcasses in them . Cover the tanks.
I mix a well know german brand mince as its full of water with the r.. po...., i save a good bit on the poison, and get a great k... great video on the battery pack
Declan I have a wind turbine up here in Ireland Since 20 11 one that was manufacture in you county galway they close the company and ran it is still going exporting power to grid not getting paid for it we have some sistiom here they want farmers do all this do not want to pay them we have a green party that do not have a proper leader
The water bladder is the way to go use by the military, I would suggest using 6 to 8 inch pipes for the returns to the farm you could then install inline turbines multiple pending on distance, reducing your pipe size before reaching the farm, it’s a win win, I don’t know your distance or heights, the solar situation sounds very interesting and great that the companies are willing to share the spoils. Good luck and thanks for sharing.
Hi Declan. Have you ever watched Kris Harbour. Is is totaly off grid in wales. He has big table saws welders all off of sloar and a wind turbine charging fork lift batteries.
Re the solar energy contract the company loves the 35 year contract as inflation hits you, the farmer. As time passes €3000 per annum per hectare becomes eroded depending on inflation rate However you can still claim the single farm payment and farm the land which is going to be very interesting to see in action. To really ring fence this contract get it index linked. I would be surprised if they agree to that. That company will be factoring inflation into the price charged for electricity generated from your farm. No ask no get.
Very interesting about the solar, its very expensive here in Canada to get panels and batteries. When are you gonna find a nice french boy to be Laura's husband so she comes back to the farm in France to help you and your wife?
Dont mind the naysayers with regard to showing new products on the channel, the fact that they take the bother to complain tells you all you need to know 🙄. If all the other comments are anything to go by the very thing that people enjoy is the amount of good ideas and labour saving devices (new and old) that have featured.
Thanks Declan, great informative video. Solar farming sounds very lucrative to be fair, more money out of that than farming.... less work too ! 😊
Happy New Year 🥳 all the best in 2024🎉🎉

Will be interesting to see what the solar panel set up looks like. Sounds like a more farming friendly set up.

Are you allowed use the water from a lake on a farm for irrigation of your land
Great idea with the solar that you can still farm it even if you just make hay and silage
Great video, very interesting. Happy new year to you all.

In the UK all solar contracts are index linked so rent keeps place with inflation
rubbish
Sounds like a good renewable energy concept - well done👌
If ye were still farming in ireland, would ye go solar
Best of luck with your new venture it sounds like a better option that you can still farm the land

PLace a ball of copper in the water and it won't go green.
Dead right Declan on the solar panels, you were always open minded. As regards tax,all income is taxable.

The reason there is no crumbs and nibbling is because one rat is taking packet and bringing it back to his nest
We get bait with holes and run wire through them in a run of 4” pipe
Very good video
