This is why I've always felt that sandman's scope can only be shown in animation better.
The comic continually changed the artist and look of the drawings. It was jarring at first, but I came to like the different aspects.

I think the cats were being a bit selfish having them rule the world. if cats did rule at first, i think it wouldnt be fair for the cats to hunt the humans as the humans didnt hunt the cats. It was only a few selfish humans who were cruel tbh

The cat part is the best part of the whole show series .. not so much for comics.
But it's adorable in the show.. with darling animations/voices.. 💕 I have no attention span for child show cartoons as an adult lol..but this lil cat revolution cartoon, I found way too interesting & enjoyable 😊 gaimans books & stories still remains with me since childhood..for many of us, which is brilliant.
If they ever make a Warriors series, hopefully it would be something like this.

This isn't the first time Dream used the Dreamers to reshape reality. [SPOILERS]
When Morpheus failed to kill the first Dream-vortex, it infected insanity to the stars and created something similar to a 'ZK-Class Reality Failure Event'. Dream and (Disguised) Desire rounded up the survivors to dream up a new reality, but he had to sacrifice a little alien girl named 'Hope' to do it. In honor of her courage, Dream made sure the new universe would never forget her.
So there was no hope before her?

I read somewhere in the comics that this never happened in reality instead it happened in dreaming aka Dream’s realm and the cats thought it happened in the waking world but it actually happened in dreaming

I wanted to rewatch Sandman after my first time, and i realised that in the first episode, when Morpheus is released from its prison, he appears to Alex as a cat !!! And everything makes sense now in this episode with cats. I was confused at first, but the "cat god" appears, i realized it was Dream !

I think you missed the point. It doesn't matter if it's true or not. Reality was changed, retroactively from the past all the way to the present. And this isn't the first time Morpheus used that trick. He literally pulled an old almost destroyed universe into a new safe one with the help of dreamers.
Yes it is absolutely true. Morpheus says that since enough humans dreamed, they ended up changing reality itself. From the beginning of time, till the end of time, a new reality formed. A reality where humans were always big. Hence in this reality, cats were never big. And Morpheus says again that if enough cats dream it, reality will change again.

I will give you my interpretation of the story, it's not how people usually interpret it, but it's how I see it. The story is about the power of dreams. Not in actually changing the reality, but by being a parallel reality where everything is possible and we can escape. Dreams are what makes us keep going even if reality is dull, sad and painful. It's like Morpheus tells Lucifer: what would hell be without dreams of being out of there? It would be better, in a sense that people wouldn't think of a better place, but it would also be worse, because people wouldn't have hope, something to escape the pain. In the reality of dreams, a world dominated by cats is possible, even if that is a delusion, it's what keep the cats going, it's what gives them strength to endure the oppression of the awake world. It's the same thing for humans, because even though we have more power than cats, we still can be oppressed and feel powerless as reality crushes us. Sometimes dreaming is the only thing we have.
