Just FYI josh, your fitness is not typically how high the heart rate can go, but rather the variability between your resting and max, how quickly you return down from max and how long you can sustain a high heart rate and perform. Also her shoulders are INSANE.
insane shoulders maybe, but flat chested lmao
@@Alienman1212 you suck
@@Alienman1212wtf bro
'Boulderers try sport climbing for the first time' 😂
since when is josh a boulderer? :D
Keep in mind how difficult overhang routes are. Like they’re extremely pumpy and physically taxing without any good rest points.
@@Miura.Powers He's a real solid route climber honestly. Just look at how quickly he speeds up, 2nd try goes crazy hard, which saves so much energy. Neat climbing, stretched arms on the shoulders, quick feet placements, flow. Very different from his bouldering, which is a lot of length+power.
Except they don't have to clip.
@@chaozzahYeah, outdoors he mostly does route climbing. He's climbed some solid grades on lead. Multiple in the 8's.
Bouldering just does better on youtube than lead content 😅
Omg hi Melissa it is Alexandra from 270 climbing!!!!!!!!
"The beast" describes josh perfectly
aye he's a feral lad innit
got to see you setting some stuff at thc reading today hope the vid is out soon.
This longer bouldering wall looks amazing!
Really good camera work on this video too btw
Melissa so adorable and STRONG💪
If you think she is strong on video you won’t believe how strong she’s in person it’s amazing
This looks right up my street!
This looks like the most perfect bouldering wall ever to project and isolate individual moves
Probably see you Monday Melissa
I sure wish bouldering videographers would let us see the "next" holds that the climber is going for. At least for your viewers who are climbers, it's frustrating to only see the hold in frame as the climber reaches it. I want to have at least a few milliseconds to understand what the next move might be. Thanks.
Which routes specifically? I'm the camera guy and trying to improve!
I think how you did the pink route starting around the 4 minute mark is good. You are zoomed on her, we see the details, and we can also see 1-2 holds ahead.
@@frederickmead7943 Hey, thanks for the reply! For examples, the red 6c (first one) at 0:39, 1:18 and 1:36. Black 6c (second) at 2:14, 2:24, 3:01. The pink 7b+ is PERFECT! Very nice. You do good work!
@@frederickmead7943I think the wood one, you couldn’t see all the moves
Those boulders are insanely long, wow
Nice!
What is the watch for? You are getting the heart rate from the band, does the watch provide other stats?
That doesn’t look bigger then the one at the Manchester climbing depot,
But I could be wrong
Whos is this Melissa amd where can I find more of her!?
I need to know the dog's other name now...
Gym - Flashpoint Swindon
That's mad, really cool, what centre is it?
Flashpoint Swindon
Where is this gym?
w manzzzz
Was it just me or was that red 6C much easier than that black 6C? The red one looked like it was all jugs even if they were quite far apart in the roof.
Hard to tell without climbing them. Probably was a soft 6c but those jugs could also have a very fine grain. Or the balance feels off with the foot holds.
@@Fella_friend reminds me of the time i saw a 7a sport climb and thought, ''damn those holds look easy, i can do that even though my max is 6b''.
The positions were so hard it didnt even matter that the holds were something i was used to seeing on 5's
@@denlolify yeah it’s just like that sometimes
that is an oddly helpful tip - to actually pinch pinches 😳🙏
Haha it’s weird isn’t it. I have to remind myself to think pinch when I get to one but it surprisingly works really well
i think the one with the higher heartrate should win. he tried harder
I think this is Manchester which you didn't state early on or in description.
It’s Flashpoint Swindon 😃
@@JoshRundleyou really do suck at remembering to credit the centres you’re At repeatedly
Definitely flashpoint Swindon because I have climbed there before
@@AdamBuxton-challand Bottom left of the screen around the 0:20 mark…
At the start of the video a bit of text pops up saying Flashpoint Swindon
Melissa's shoulders are amazing! What a stunning athlete :)
you give away pretty personal data there^^ we can literally see if you try hard xD thats brutal
why's he got paper on his shoe?
Nice Swedish accent, kinda sounded Welsh lol
where is this gym?
Flashpoint Swindon
That’s the one ☝️
6:34 why is he using the orange foothold???
You’re not allowed to stand on the wooden feet so you have the the orange foot holds for that climb 😃
I’m 54… I can get my hr to 195… working pace is around 150 zone 2. Unlikely to be close to death at 190 for your age - but maybe you need to find your actual max?
Josh is the skibidi Ohio rizzler
To find your safe max heart rate, deduct your age from 220
Just needs to breathe
Some very interesting angles. Approved
The beast is fun, but it destroys your back
You should look up “degloving” from watches and climbing just fyi
I will never google something from a random comment again
theres no draws to snag on and either crimps or pinches so shouldn't be a problem here
interesting josh is no longer climbing in tenaya
yes
I’m sponsored by La Sportiva now 😃
@@JoshRundle how did u manage that!? well done matey. maybe i could get sponsored too? :)
