Looks amazing but I'd assume that it will be a dust magnet. But if you can afford something like this you can probably also afford a museum glass display case for it.

Good point. You could probably do some good with a DataVac elelctronics blower. As long as you took care to sweep the air and hit everything at sharp angles instead of head on. You don't want to embed anything on the surface.
Honestly for all the work and hair punching I would have thought more expensive than that. Maybe Cap will be the least expensive since he doesn't have a head of hair exposed.
Well... The materials and time put in isnt worth more than $4k. You can get full life size silicone dolls with steel skeletons and joints for the same or less and it looking as good but not that of real famous people or DC or Marvel heroes. Gamelady makes 1:1 5.5ft tall silicone dolls of female game character taken right from the games that looks as they do in the games for only $3k and they are 80lb or so. So seeing these busts priced for $4k seems a lil more than they should be when you compare them to something that gives you more for less but one is made outside of China and the other is made in China so $4k makes sense.

A certain industry is already pretty advanced with silicon sculptures, I'd have to wonder if the guys that do these marvel sculptures had a chat with them for tips.
Indeed, a certain industry is quite good at producing lifelike silicone sculptures, which also have complete bodies, posable skeletons, and assorted ... functionalities. Though I'm sure Marvel licensing limits the scope of allowable "innovations" in this case.
If you’re using silicone skin, you should be able to add motors into the neck, and IR sensors in the glass eyes, whereby, when someone is in the room, their heads move and follow them. That would be sick!!!

They need one little upgrade to freak out the curious who get close: Moving eyes controlled by a computer with facial recognition software so the eyes can look at your face. And/or make them blink.
I have my Home theater decorated with life-size movie replica items including a couple of Queen Studios bust I thought it would be pretty creepy to own something like this But they have become some of my favorite things in my theater, they are works of art, The amount of detail and realism they put into these are amazing, Infinity Studios also does amazing work in this area
Amazing! Are these production prototypes though? Not sure if these are the same studio who did the Wonder woman bust. The prototype of that was as good as these. The final mass produced made on a factory production line ones that people actually would buy.....not so good. Main difference comes in the production line hair and paint quality. Could never match these painstakingly created one of a kind prototypes
If they look lifelike, then the uncanny valley has been bridged. It could still be unsettling because you know these are sculptures and not "real", which then affects your perception of them as art objects.

However, I think it could also be argued that it has bridged the uncanny valley, but is still not quite lifelike. The uncanny valley is not an empirical measurement of lifelike-ness, but a theoretical measure of human reaction towards it. My feeling of unease is personal, not empirical after all.
And again, this isn’t to say anything against the creator. These are still incredibly impressive, and hold up very well. Like I said, the uncanny valley is a feeling, not empirical.

I would be more weirded out by the fact that someone would buy them on the first place, regardless of one's gender or sexual preferences. It's not even a representation of a superhero but just portrayals of actors wearing a costume. It's just unsettling imo.
It seems like their poses have been strategically chosen to offset the uncanny valley. They all appear to be looking off into the middle distance and the side, even Loki looks like he’s not looking straight ahead. They’re not gonna be watching you walk across the room like they reckon the Mona Lisa does.
At first I was kind of sad that Adam wasn't the one showcasing these masterpieces, but man, you really are great at this, Norm! You make me like you even more with every new video!

I know material science gets better, but even modern and "medical grade" rubbers and silicones break down. Ideally, displays need to be climate controlled. Besides, with the cost of the satues, 35 years still isn't great.

I see things like this and then I go over to a robotics channel and they can't stop talking about the uncanny valley. They talk about how hard it is to make a humanoid robot that isn't a horror show. Why can't these two get together and put the robotic electronics inside these hyper real busts? Or, at least let these artists design the face and body of a robot.

They look great but Every new marvel movie is depreciating the entire franchise. Disney has destroyed all things Marvel... same as Star Wars... its a real shame but both are un-repairable. I’m not a collector myself but i assume for fans of marvel, its like any other collectors item. The artistry is top notch and it allows the collectors to feel like they can bring part of the story or character they love closer to them. The heart wants what the heart wants.

It wont last 35 years. high end silicone is rated to last 20 years on average before signs of dry rot/cracking and paint will always be the first thing to go let alone the hair which may need to be maintained, for sure if you do not put it in a glass case but i can bet most people thats buys one will not, they will place it on a open shelf, on a living room table or on their pc desk so i would say in these cases this would last 10 years or less.

Astounding that these didn't start as 3D scans of the actors. The likenesses are uncanny. Kudos to the very talented artists involved.

Once they have a robot subframes under these skins it's going to be game changer.
It's gonna be so difficult to make the movement look hyperreal just because there are so many facial muscles.
