    Everyone should remember that you are supposed to camp at least 100' away from a lake or stream. Keep it beautiful. Leave it better than the way you found it.

    What were the dates of this trip? Trying to get an idea of when the roads tend to be passable after winter.

    From Bishop!!! Never camped there going tomorrow and was wondering about the mosquitoes but sounds like you didn’t see any. August could be a different game.

      I have been up in Inyo mountain range east of there during summer several times and never had any mosquito problems. plus being at 10000ft still feel like you will be ok there and plus the temps drop alot at night. bring some off to be safe but I would say you should be ok. Man I would love to live in Bishop place is so nice and love small towns like that.

    How long did it take to get there from the base... also, is it really that hard to drive? I’ve heard mixed thoughts

    • @lastminutetravels3034
      @lastminutetravels3034  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      took me about 1 1/2 hours to get to the lake, the drive really isn't that bad as long as you have some experience off road and a decent 4wd vehicle, its more of an annoying trail due to all the rocks

    • @lastminutetravels3034

      THE DRIVE IS 16 MILES FROM THE START AND A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR TO GET UP THERE DEPENDING ON SPEEDS AND CONDITIONS, AS FOR MOSQUITOES I DIDN'T SEE ONE JUST SOME SPIDERS ON THE GROUND WAS IT

    How long is this dirt road before the sites ?

  • @roncook6
    @roncook6 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does this road into the lakes area require any advanced 4wd skill or equipment? Can you rate the different areas, especially where you wouldn't recommend beginners to go?

    • @lastminutetravels3034
      @lastminutetravels3034  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the complete first part is easy going with some switch backs and some small obstacles. Rate it a 3 out of 10 once you start heading into the lakes about the last mile is really rocky and as long as you can navigate rocks and know where they are in relation to your vehicle and have the proper ground clearance you will be ok, rate that a 5 out of 10. but advanced 4wd skills not really needed getting to the lakes but there are trails up there that are difficult but not to the lakes, you will need a 4wd with good tires due to all the rocks and have some ground clearance.

    • @lastminutetravels3034
      @lastminutetravels3034  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im sure you could but you would have to beat the shit out of it due to the momentum you would need to get over some of the obstacles going up to the lake. 4x4 is almost a must getting up to the lake due to the boulders mud and some climbs. But if you try and you do make it let me know that would be pretty cool
