Thanks for going back to the station one last time - I'm thinking about attempting to model it in it's current condition. Great video! May God always grant yo safety.
You figure the railroad would want that gone. Don't want things falling on the tracks or a train. Love nostalgia. Look back in time. Great video Brian, stay well roll on
From the beginning to the end, we were sitting here saying how sad that the depot will be torn down and that someone wouldn't step up to save it. What a great building!! Would love to see pictures of it from when it was new. Great sounding locomotives and enjoyed the trains long or short. Thanks for another great video JT and appreciate all you do to bring them to us.
There is a photo from 1955 in B&W looking east from the double track main where youe see there was also a double track line going to Wilmington ,OH and eventually Washington Courthouse,OH. A passenger train was just getting to the junction depot in the photo from that branch.
Any one who loves trains, should visit the Whistle Stop Monon Connection Museum, (and restaurant)in Monon Indiana. It’s the best private RR collection I’ve ever seen.
I'm imagining that building when it was new and the first employees that was India and all the history of communicating with trains that came out of that station. That station kept a worker's home, paid bills, sent children to school, went on vacations. They probably brought their kids there. I also think about the last person that was assigned there and then it was closed and now sits abandoned ready for demolition. Wow, history is amazing!
Beautiful train JT! Got stuck at a crossing with the gates down since CN was replacing a section of siding and an ambulance had to come through. The CN workers stopped what they were doing and physically LIFTED the gate for the ambulance (engine came with it for extra man power o/s)
Jawtooth, That was one of the best videos you have ever posted! I liked the first train with the three leased units from three different railroads! The old train station is really cool, but sad to see it is going to be torn down. It makes a great photo/video backdrop for passing trains... great job!!! What could have caused the rail to be damaged like that? You have posted videos of rail that is over 100 years old that is still in good shape. Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for the great video of the Big manifest rumbling by the old, crumbling train station. The building has a beautiful design to it and should have been save. We both know the old saying: “Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.” In this case also applicable is: “Those who ignore or don’t invest in history are doomed to loose it.” Thank you for the great commentary as well, I enjoy it.
Great job as always Jaw Tooth, that old station was cool. I really wish my camera work was as professional yours😂. I still have yet to catch something on Indiana and Ohio.
Hello Jaw, the station building looks terrible. Soon all it takes is a breeze and it collapses like a house of cards. Really, really sad. 😢Do any photos still exist when the station was still in operation? That would be the right station building for a model railway.😊 I'll watch the video in peace this evening. Many greetings from Germany Wolfgang
Hi JT, what a glorious setting that old station/ depot even though falling down it looks beautiful against the trees. Fab first train 3 locos! It was a long one, enjoyed that JT thanks ! ❤😊
@@JawToothbut yet, where is it? Still there, and in such deplorable shape. I would think it poses a serious danger to the passing trains and crews!😮😮😮 Looks like if a really fast moving train rumbled by, that building would fall over, into and onto the train and tracks, causing a lot of damage to both. Maybe even cause a catastophic derailment in the process. As bad as that dilapidated building is, it should get torn down A.S.A.P. It's a danger to anyone or anything that gets near it, from the looks of it.
Love that old station, one of my favourite places you film from! I know you only rarely go there and next time that derelict station maybe gone. I remember the last time you where there you did go inside and I think even attempted to go upstairs??? You told the story in more detail how you caught a train from there, and I think in your late teens? So, it has particular fond memories. Yes, it is a shame to see it decay to ruin! Loved the trains, loved that angle you film the trains from, that cured side view is one my pet perspectives of trains passing. Loved that beautiful trees in the background, too... just all adds and sums up to a great video. The pets and pigs (and kids in the background) round it out, well, too. Thanks, JT!
Jawtooth, this would make a great Halloween video! The old dilapidated train station looks positively HAUNTED overlooking the train like that. Great video! 👍👍
Another classic by Jaw Tooth. Perfect setting, with that last days station, a curve in the tracks, coming and going, and time of day. Your two years of waiting was finally rewarded with a very long train. Love that green-livery box car at 4:42. There's a lot of seriously interesting graffiti on that first train. I rhink that's the chattiest frequency (161.220} you've ever recorded. Great that you caught some switching action at the Greenfield Yard. Nice architecture for that depot. Wonder if anyone can post a picture of it when it was all spiffy and busy? Thanks for your continuing excellence in video operation and RR information. The piglets are wonderful.
Great Video, that old Station house would be fantastic to restore to its original status and dare i say live in, great place to be, countryside is perfect over there in Autumn Have a great week and be safe. Regards
A rare old abandoned train station this was a nice place stand and watch the trains go by, I'm surprised that the vibration of the trains don't make the station fall down, great to see an appearance by the dogs and the pigs, that was great to see inside the old station before it falls down, another really great video Thank You Jaw Tooth.🤠🐕🐕🐈⬛🐖 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
My local town of Oakland, Maryland has a restored station that it uses as a railroad museum. They provide tours in season. This station reminds me some in design of it. In front of our station, the town has a nonworking steam engine on display.
Aw, that's sad. I'm sure it was a beautiful depot in it's day. Nice location with the fall colors. I sure enjoy your videos for all the added information you provide.
Hey Jawtooth. That was an awesome video. I don’t remember ever seeing so many gondolas on one train. It was. A long one too. It’s too bad they didn’t do something about preserving that old station. Thanks 👍❤️
Hi, JT! Live the clups involving those old structures! I can visualize in decades past that steam breathing giants passing through while waiting passengers at the station smell burning coal waiting for loved ones to get home! Very important part of your videos!
Love the old tri-clops sd60. Would have been awesome to have heard him in Notch 8, but the mix of power for the consist is just fantastic, great video!
Excellent video I can remember as a kid growing up in a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada in the Summer going down to the train station to watch the train coming in,highlight of the day, good memories.
Just wanted to say my 3.5 year old son AJ loves your videos and has started using some of your lingo, "its booking it" "but wait there's more" and something else I can't think of at the moment. Anyways, thanks for the train videos! AJ and mom from Oak Lawn, IL
Beautiful ! I love abandoned things- strange they would not repair it in fear of it falling down and onto the tracks. It was a beautiful structure too. Thanks for filming this.
Thanks for having this channel. I love your videos and appreciate the pets and personal sharing. Jaw Tooth is awesome! Old depot is super cool. It would have been nice if they could have preserved it.
We like how you find old history. Wow, nice locomotives and train, very interesting.😊 That was amazing seeing that rail chipped. Goodness.😊 Loved this video so much as always . That last locomotive looks like one that use to come here. H O G train. We never see it anymore. Just the NS and ST Mary's train. Loved your hogs and fur babies Thanks slot Mr JT. ❤😊
Hi JT, great video as usual! I noticed on the first train some of the air intakes on the engines were almost completely covered in leaves. This probably reduced airflow significantly! I wonder if it caused overheating issues?
Hey JawTooth! Wow, that old depot looks cool. Wonder what is looked like in its day. Nice catch on that first train. UP Tri-clops is unique. What a long one, talk about emptying the yard. That station must have so much history to it. Wow, that rail is the worst I've ever seen. Jeez. Local running LHF is cool. Hey Chessie!! Hey Loki! New piglets!! Tell Norfie hello for me. Thanks for the video!
Cool depot. That would be awesome if you could film them knocking down the poor depot. Looks like it could collapse any moment. Great video. Gave a nice day 😊🌈
I’m guessing the top level of that station was probably a signal house. Looks like it probably dates back to the early 1900s. really neat seeing the old ticket window. one of the rooms with the shelves in it was probably for mail because that’s how the mail was moved years ago.
super nice vid there - loved that first train, perfect shot right next to the depot and the motive power was really interesting too, (ex UP cyclops cab? holy cow.) That rail sure is beat to heck too...

I thought it was a good one, too, had "everything" including a great angle to film the passing trains with that curved approach.
