Great video Jaw Tooth. Have a great day and thank you for the great video. I remember you videoing from this location in the past. Sad to see that happened
Sad to see the old passenger station reduced to ashes. It was a good job you recorded it for future generations to get to see what it was like last year. I suppose it's better than watching it slowly fall down and maybe hurt someone but it is a lost piece of railroad history now gone for ever.
Yeah, it was in pretty rough shape. The last time JT featured it you could see holes in the floor in places and there was a kids bike laying on the ground next to it. I'm a Dad and Grandpa so you can imagine what was going through my mind. I wonder how this fire got started, maybe even who started it.
Thanks jaw tooth for recording the station even in its poor condition. Too bad that some group could not have restored the building as a heritage site. The railway could also have used it as an equipment storage shed or whatever to save the building. Anyhow it’s history now and maybe other former signal houses will get saved to preserve our railway heritage
One can sure tell your love of train stations, not only this one but where ever you report on one. You’re a true rail fan. Even reporting on the old signals. Good tribute JW. 🚂🚂🚂
Hello top of the world again Paris Arkansas yeah it’s too bad the station burnt I hate to see stuff like that. 😢 At least you’ve got it on film can always look back love your videos thank you
It is always sad to see a piece of our short national history disappear. The trains were an essential part of the development of the US to the superpower we are today. So many memories lost. Very glad you have it documented on video so many times, sir. Hello, from Brownsville, TX
This was sad to hear about that train station burning down 😢 Lots of interesting information and pretty locomotives Enjoyed this and seeing your pets are always a joy. Thanks Mr JT. Stay safe out there.❤😊
I could hear the sadness in your voice while you were talking about the station and your memories of it. Such a shame to watch that station deteriorate and lose that connection to the past.
When traveling, my wife and I take time to stop and look at old RR stations, old houses and barns. As you stand there it's as if you can hear sounds from the distant past. Thanks for documenting.
Great video Brian and I'm sorry about the Midland Station set on fire, too bad once it closed, the company didn't take care of that historical building. Thank you very much
Great tribute to the old station. 10,000’s were served over the 100+ years it was active. The jumps between this week and a couple months ago is epic use of the medium. You have a keen sense of balance in your presentation and editing. Without a doubt you’ve become my favorite youtube channel. Relaxing, no stress, and no narrative over the train sounds. I love when you ‘sell’ the video with “this is going to be a good one” or “that was a good one!” Never a negative other than waiting 3 hours for a train. Whatever drives you, keep up the passion! The 5 hour holiday present was fantastic! Thanks. I split it into 3 hr then 2hr. I watched and enjoyed every minute. You’re the best, JT. ‼️🌞✔️🌝 🇺🇸
Thanks for showing that flash-back to 2020 of the Midland City, OH 1885 train station. It's obvious no one was attempting to save it at that time. It's wonderfully engaging to read your history of using various trains on that line over many years. What road is that "LTEX" power heading that October 2023 train ahead of the IORY #4490? Bonus coverage - a destroyed dumpster and new switches installed! Thanks for another top-notch video, Jawtooth!
All those journeys that started from that station over the years, some to start a new life or off to wars never to return. It’s a shame that it got to the point that it was beyond repurposing into something for the community. Thank you for this video JT, appreciate your heritage while you can, because one day it ain’t going to be there.
You could say the station received a Jedi funeral. I figured it would have fallen under the next snow load. The freight building in Blanchester has the same colors that SOO Line painted their buildings. Great action and a nice station tribute. Enjoyed it much, thanks JT!
Sad to say one knew it was just a matter of time until that depot met its end. Thanks for the review of trains of the past that rolled by it during better times. Indeed between rail fans the maintenance equipment and the local it was like a mini funeral service. As for live action Loki the youngster had best heed the sage wisdom of senior dog Brandy
Sad to see another piece of the past disappear. Looks like once the debris is cleared quite a bit of old brick will be left. Perhaps something nice could be built to note the history. On a personal note I rode the Amtrak between Athens and Cincinnati a couple of times in the '70. Keep up the great work!
The squeal of the wheel flanges rubbing the inside rail, on the Oct. 18th vid is horrible, but music to my ears at the same time. That was a long train, considering only 2 power units upfront .. and most of the cars were loaded except for the tankers, according to spring compression. I loved hearing the radio exchange on your scanner, too .. And though the station was already doomed, it's a damn shame to see that it went the way it did .. and no one will be held accountable.. I love your signature wave and swipe timed perfectly to the music at the end of each vid ... good stuff, JT, thanks.
Back again, Brian. This ALS I have is terrible. Now in a nursing home, but have the IPAD with me, so I can watch your videos again. A shame about the station. Hoping both your families, human and animals are healthy and ready for the winter. 👍🙂🇺🇸
Thanks J.T for the footage from 2020 Flash Back, this is treasure for us ALL. Sadly, the railroad has some detractors as well as fans.❤ Thanks again for the presentation. 😊
Dear JT: your expert documentation is already a treasure and on into the future. Your closing music causes me to think of "...John Henry was a steel driving man"... Your overhead shots are great for future historical study. Thank you and Mrs. JT for your talent and tenacity. ❤
Such a beautiful old unique station Jawtooth, glad you got it on video before it was gone! Wish it could've been saved somehow but it looked too far gone anyway. It was still beautiful though even in it's bad shape, ashame it couldn't be left alone awhile longer.
Hi JT: thank you for sharing... So disappointing about the train station burning down! Hopefully someone will know something about potential perpetrators... Otherwise, the rest of the video is awesome as usual! I also wanted to note a Thank You for including the aerial photos. Always helps to see a bigger picture!.. Have a nice day! Respectfully, David.
I watched 1960Gambit's video of the burned out Midland train depot. According to him, this was an act of arson on New Years Eve. I watched your video when you filmed the inside of the depot back in October 2023. What a shame that they burned it to the ground. It was due to be torn down anyway. It was in horrible condition. Your video was better than 1960Gambit's video, because you went further in depth about the depot than he did.

Fab video JT proper old style railroad with diamonds, telegraph poles & tilting signal awesome trains my favourite was the intermodel with dpu you dont see that often. Nice seeing Brandi & Loki playing together at the end. 🐕🐕🦺😊👍
I love old buildings, but unfortunately, they get to the point they become a safety hazard. This building stayed up longer than it should've. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on
How incredibly sad to lose this piece of RR history. I always thought the design of that building was beautiful and wished someone could have restored it. Any idea how the fire started? Thanks for paying tribute to a grand old station JT. At least it's in your video's where we can all see it from time to time. Until next time!!
That is really sad as i remember you covering an not often used rail line and the facility in much need of some TLC. But abandoned, a great facility which i commented that would be a nice place to buy and look at the trains go by and had s magical outlook as scenery goes😄
Sorry about that stupid happy face, got itself in there somehow, because that is a real piece of railway history that could have been sold off to somone to formulate a rail fan club to man at amy time or ones oen personal home if your love for trains does not end you up in the divorce court with your wife. Really nice video.
Yes, true. I'm going to miss that station. The photography won't be the same without it. That would have been a great place for a Railfan to live. CSX owns it though
Thank you for your video on the demise of the old depot in Midland, Ohio. It was a shame that the old depot had to go that way. I hope that the ruins of the depot are removed quickly so they do not sit around for a long time. That was a long train that you caught going past the smoldering ruins. That piece of maintenance of way equipment appeared to have two magnets on it. Usually, you see a magnet of that size on a self-propelled crane.
Good Day Friend, definitely looks like Arson. Still smoldering. It's to bad people can not leave things alone. I used to be in Law Enforcement and when I retired I could've written a book. Somebody in town is behind this, and more than likely got paid to do it. Keep up your Great Train Videos my Friend. Ron from Duanesburg and a Rail Fan.
That makes me so sad. Thank you so much for the video. It's just we just don't have any appreciation in this country for anything of the past with any hope of resurrecting it for the future. I'm thinking about our Moline Illinois station that they just finally tore down several years ago
Great video. Hope they can find the Midland sign that was on the building by the fuel tank. Maybe a historical marker and cleanup the brick walkway would be cool.
JT. I worked for the old B&O back in the sixties and early seventies as a tower operator. Used to run trains from Newark to Cincinnati down the C&N division down to Midland and on to Cincinnati. They were 102 & 104 East bound 85 & 97 West bound. They would stop in Columbus at the Fifth Ave yard or what was East Columbus tower where I worked. The old NY tower burned down in about 1988. It was vacant at that time. No cause was ever determined but was thought to be arson.
Loved the tribute. Looks like the firefighters didn't completely put out the flames. Loved watching Brandy and Loki going at it over a piece of trash. Brandy is getting grumpy.
I'm surprised to see the Fire Dept left with the building remains still burning. Did the fire cause any damage to the surrounding rr equipment or track?
Great job on filming the old station. It’s very sad I was hoping you found something in the wreckage like an old clock or anything it’s gonna be something in there. I can’t believe they left it burning. Did you see the road sign the road sign said railroad Road
bummer that piece of history has been lost. great vid. the pup segment has me asking Q: what is the breed of your newest pup? a replacement is possible here for my now 13 yr old lab. she lost her smaller older companion last week. the place is just not the same without two four leggers running, well at their ages, walking around. seeing your new one and the older one playing was so sweet and a tear welled up as our loss so recent. that breed looks like a good match for us. keep up the great work and stay warm.

Hey everyone, start your day with JawTooth. For him, all of the trains are "good ones" and I agree especially when they are lucky enough to be shared by him! Thanks JawTooth!
