Open up the Ranching Station crafting interface Craft the Snare Craft the particular creature bait you want Prepare: If you have a character with talents in the Husbandry Talent tree then bring that character as it can help speed up the taming. Bring shelter, bed, and fire because it can take a little while Bring usual preparations o2, water, food, ammo, repairs, etc Bring the Share and baits Bring an OEI (they can be quite slow so might be quicker to launch them out, travel home then call them in again) Bring some Omni Animal Feed and One other animal feed to fill the two initial stomach. Also helps level them up and keep them healed if they fight their way back Travel to the Biome where you typically find the creature you want to tame Best to be a fair distance away from your base (avoids issues with you or your other tamed creatures disturbing it while taming and also avoids known issues with Animal Deterants) On Prometheus try to pick areas where there are less Dreadwings....the can become an annoying problem Place the snare on the ground (right click and Deploy or put it on your action bar) Do NOT place more than one Snare near each other Put the Bait you crafted on your action bar and add it to the snare Kill a few small or medium creatures you can carry and take them to the snare Approach from behind the creature and sneak in to avoid it seeing you (anything that reduces threat perception can help here) Back off to give the creature space, give it time to tame and ensure you give it more bodies if it required Scavangers may approach to try to eat the bait or Bodies so you may need to kill them to keep the area clear.

I purposely didn't want to defend him, to show how animals can cope on their own.
how do you domesticate wolves and wild boars?
