பிரபஞ்சத்தின் மிகப் பெரிய புதிர்களில் ஒன்றாக இருந்துவருகின்ற dark matter எனப்படும் காண முடியாத பொருள் இருப்பது பற்றியும் அது எங்கு இருக்கிறது என்பது பற்றியும் விஞ்ஞானிகள் புதிய கண்டுபிடிப்புகளைச் தொடர்ந்து செய்து கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.
பிரபஞ்சத்தின் கட்டமைப்பு பொருளில் பெரும்பங்கு இந்த dark matter தான் என்றாலும், இந்தப் பொருளைப் பார்க்க முடியாது, ஆனால் தூரத்திலுள்ள அண்டங்களில் இருந்து வருகின்ற ஒளியில் இந்த டார்க் மேட்டர் ஏற்படுத்தும் தாக்கத்தை வைத்துத்தான் அது இருப்பதை அறிய முடிகிறது.
What’s the difference between dark energy and dark matter?
In short, dark matter slows down the expansion of the universe, while dark energy speeds it up.
Dark matter works like an attractive force - a kind of cosmic cement that holds our universe together. This is because dark matter does interact with gravity, but it doesn’t reflect, absorb, or emit light. Meanwhile, dark energy is a repulsive force - a sort of anti-gravity - that drives the universe’s ever-accelerating expansion.
Normal matter consists of the atoms that make up stars, planets, human beings and every other visible object in the Universe. to precisely assess the age of the universe to be 13.77 billion years old and to determine that atoms make up only 4.6 percent of the universe, with the remainder being dark matter and dark energy.
