Dr Vinesha is right, consumers are at fault. But are majority of consumers at fault who don't know about nutrition?? From years majority of Indians know that dal and rice is protein but actually it's carbs rich. We are not aware about the daily calories intake or calories in food (macros). When we go to doctor, he/she only gives a prescription without explanation of reason for the disease. I am diabetic and when I consulted diabetologist he gave me medicines and a diet chart which didn't focus much on protein and mentioned about regular exercise. After watching videos on TH-cam I understood basics and exercise of nutrition. Implemented the same and my sugar level decreased.
Though india being diabetic capital there is no information/education on its reasons and ways to avoid or reverse. There are so many ways to share this information but not a single source of complete information. It's obvious if people know how to reverse diabetes or avoid in the first place, there wouldn't be a need for dietician/nutritionist or doctor.

Thanks for selecting a burning issue. Though many people don't smoke n drink, pollution is doing that job for city people and primary it's the chemicals we r exposed to from morning till night inthe form of tooth paste, soap, bodywash dishwash, detergent,shampoo, conditioner, cosmetics, sprays roomfreshner, toilet cleaner, floor cleaner and what not, list goes on, whatever little micro biome we get from so called home cooked food is also deteriorated with the use of all these. Especially the dish wash liquid handwash and toothpaste are the biggest culprit of all, directly into stomach, toothpaste first thing in the morning, just read the label on it, we use it for small kids too. Go back to our roots, should ask our previous generations how they managed without all of these and still had good immunity levels
