The best songs to introduce people to Metallica are One, Enter Sandman and Fade to Black. Metallica's sound sounded really dated in the early 2000's. Now it sounds amazing again. The high metal riffs went out of style for a bit. I think they were overdone but now they've been gone for 15 years people are ready to hear them again.
The one *YEAH* at 4:06 was actually meant to be saying *ME* so do not fully trust these lyric videos! That was the onlu wrong bit in this video though.

Army story: I was active in the late 90's, before ipods and easily portable music. My last rotation to NTC at Ft Irwin before I got out I had already been replaced in my unit so I ended up driving the colonel's battle track, just some APC with a 50 mount, I forget the "M-" designation. Anyway, no way in hell a full bird was going to actually ride in the track during the training, so I basically had it to myself for a month, and followed him and his Humvee around the whole time. At the end of the rotation I had wired my ammo can radio (a car stereo and tape deck fixed in a 50cal ammo can and wired to the vehicle battery) into the intercom system so I could listen through my ear muffs/intercom system while driving. The old man wanted to expend all ammo on the live fire part of the training so we didn't have to turn it back in.. so long story short, I was busting through the California desert in a tracked vehicle, explosions, gunfire and artillery firing off everywhere, A-10's doing CAS passes, with this album turned up to 11 piped directly into my brain. It was life affirming.

If you run, you'll only die tired." Ooo Ra baby.

This song always reminds me of a horror movie I saw when I was a kid called "Sleepstalker"....I found the DVD years ago and had to buy it and it's still just as creepy as I remembered as a kid.
My nephews are less than 2 years old. They have a hard time getting to sleep. This is what I use to put them to sleep. I know, kinda twisted and dark, but they gotta grow up with a spine and a pair of devil horn fists thrusted at the sky!
