@Xray Heartland That's actually not quiet true. Stanne was the Guitarist for DT and helped In Flames out as a Vocalist, he was never a "full" member of the Band.
Everyone is talking about old In Flames and Mikael Stanne, and that's great, but they actually said in an interview that the whole project started out on the riffs and work of Niclas Engelin... Let's give this man some apreciation and warmth!!
They're back baby!! Goliaths Disarm Their Davids was my introduction to melodic death metal 21 years ago... been yearning for something like this for a very long time.

Holy shit this is good. I actually cried listening to this. I've wanted to hear the old In Flames sound for 15+ years and here it is. Absolutely love this song and this band rules. Good to see the Gothenburg sound back. We need this in our lives
i just had the CD arrive yesterday, had only heard Shadowminds. this song started and within 10 seconds i had to hit pause to go gather myself. this is 1997 man. so fuckin good.

This is the Type of In Flames sound I’ve been dying to hear. It brings such a huge smile to my face. Jesper, you are finally back making the music you love and we can all see it.
This may sound weird, but seeing him in this new band made me so happy for him. The resistance didn’t work out, In Flames went in a path he wasn’t able to pretend to like anymore but he found himself in this and this I feel is what he was longing for. I’m happy for the guy
Shadowminds and Feel What I Believe blew my mind. This… I don’t know what to say, I’m so happy. Thank you for making this happen. My faith in music is restored. In The Halo Effect We Trust!
I literally discovered them now, while being fan of IF and DT since many many years,Never knew of those colaboration and oh man-Mikael's voice is even better here, guitars still melodic (jester race/whoracle vibe),glad to see Daniel around too.Great combination-Can't wait for January Live show in Glasgow!!
Me and a mate of mine have been hyped for this song since it's announcements. Having loved the first 2 songs this is an absolute banger of a song. Sadly, he is in a coma now due to a car accident. I really hope he wakes up soon so we can jam to this song together. In the meantime i'll listen to this song for the both of us.
Oh man! That's horrible! 😢 Hopefully he wakes soon! Please let us know when he does and other than your voice and voices of family, let this be the next thing he hears.

@Bob Smith: you are not far off ;) He did write a lot of those leads/ideas, but playing them live wasn't really his thing, AFAIK. Not a shy performer by any means, though, very happy to see him play!
I absolutely adore In Flames and all its incarnations, I absolutely adore Dark Tranquility, and I absolutely adore all the other 'Gothenburg' bands (Soilwork, At The Gates, etc.) but this. THIS. Listening to this song ,fulfills all my dreams on "swedish melodic death metal" for 20 years. NOONE was able to take the throne since then.... I feel the insecurities and pain, bound to the progress of creating this masterpiece. When I heard, Jesper was creating music again with former "In Flames"-members, I was thrilled and scared. Now this is exactly what I want to hear. The In Flames sound I crave. It sounds like it was written for Colony and just didnt make the cut. Incredible.
Jesus. All 3 singles from this album are giving me the nostalgia tingles. These guys have nothing to prove and are playing what they want to play. Fucking good on them! Can't wait for the album.
I was thinking this was some unreleased in flames songs from back in the day before j glanced at my monitor. I'm impressed. Glad to hear Jesper still doing amazing things.
Probably the best forthcoming album since Clayman (2000) gathering DT, IF, Gardenian, DZ and Sacrilege ingredients. Bogren's touch behind controls are awesome! This line-up is the swedish melodic death metal dream team!. They have the know-how
I find quite amusing waiting for so long for In Flames to sound like this and then 5 musicians who happen to be ex-In Flames make it real. It just blew my mind and made me wonder... Amazing sound and execution...
Best melodeath I've heard in a long time. I get old In Flames vibes but the last keychange I get big COB vibes as well. Just clean and classic with up-to-date production. Love this one🤘
The modern pop rock sensibilities with the Colony style feel. I am glad Niclas is getting to let out some of that old Gardenian mixed with In Flames and I am super happy about it. Seeing Jesper play just makes me happy.
My 21 year old son schooled me a couple of weeks ago. He told me that Mikael was the original In Flames vokillist. When my boy knows more than I do about a band, that's a proud dad moment 🤘

this is art, it is the signature of gothenburg, these gentlemen marked my history with their unique style, many imitated them, but what comes out of jesper's guitar and michael's voice is magic, the planets aligned.
This is what every melodic death metal fan wants to hear! I didn't know about this band and I'm very glad to hear this. In Dark Flames we trust! Oh, man, so glad that these great musicians are back together! : )))
So it's 1998, i've been getting into metal for a few years now as a teenager and I read an article about in flames in a guitar magazine. Jesper was famously quoted as saying he wanted to write extreme music mixed with iron maiden leads/harmonies. The only thing I really knew was thrash and power metal at this point, but I went out and bought colony when it released the next year. Mikael Stanne's vocals with Jesper Strömblad's guitars. Perfect.

The in flames riffs with the dark tranquillity twist in vocals is a beautiful collaboration. This is the supergroup we’ve all needed.

I agree in flames are has beens now you can see what they lost right here
We just needed the "old times". Now even in a bad way, just something to remind us and we got it!
This basically just original In Flames

Niclas Engelin is a god on guitar and making music
he's also the 'old' in flames...
Niclas is THE man!!!
there is a lot of riffing from Gardenian and Engel, both bands from Engelin
Niclas is amazing
This is the most In Flames song I've heard in a decade, and I'm in love
2 decades.
It sounded like "Clayman" in the fist five seconds...
They're back baby!! Goliaths Disarm Their Davids was my introduction to melodic death metal 21 years ago... been yearning for something like this for a very long time.
