  • It was the Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours 133rd Anniversary on 22nd and 23rd September 2018 and I was delighted to be there all day Saturday and part of Sunday. Saturday started with a tour of Rigby road and Starr Gate Depots. The video only briefly shows the Depot Tour as I don't want to spoil it for anyone intending to book a tour in the future. Its incredible the difference between the two depots.
As night fell everyone waited to get their first look at the Illuminated trams entering service and I don't think they were disappointed. The Frigate and Western Train look spectacular running along the Promenade under the Illuminations.
A variety of Preserved buses also operated a free bus service both days from Rigby Road tram Depot to Starr Gate. Once again my thanks to everyone involved for another fantastic weekend of Tram action.
Oh I nearly forgot Happy Anniversary.

Cracking video as always and a great event, really glad you were able to get on the depot tours this year. That open top Balloon 706 was the same one we rode around Heaton Park on during their 'Blackpool Day' back in 2010, good to see it once more, I hope the FTS are able to raise enough money to get it running again.

I miss that clanging sound...last time I went on a tram in Blackpool, was the late 80s.

Why did those trams have to be push/pulled out the depot by road cars?

The Trams being moved out of the Depot are in various stages of restoration and are non operational. Normally hidden away it gave enthusiasts a chance to see them.
