What amazing in this story is the fact that people who do not consider themselves as friends can make such a good music together.

They must have at one point just gelled completely, seems - but yeah they drifted apart so quickly and drastically! Ever see the “moz steals marrs bike” bit on Portlandia? So good

Of the copious letters that Morrissey wrote to the music papers when he was young, one became unintentionally hilarious: in response to their cover of Bowie's "John I'm Only Dancing" he said that if the Polecats had any imagination, they would shoot themselves. Polecats guitarist Boz Boorer later became Morrissey's longest-running collaborator and musical director.

Dennis, I don't want to resort to hyperbole, but these docs are masterpieces. I have to keep pausing and rewinding them to take in all the fact you present! And you break it up with humor and cool artwork. A real treat for a music history nut like myself.

@@rocdocs Thank YOU. And, since I always leave you with trivia: the song "A Rush and a Push and the Land is Ours" isn't about British colonialism, it's about the Irish retaking their land from the Engish.

@@MichaelLuke-w6p Yep, and I'll do you one better. It was Moz's voice fed thru an Eventide harmonizer which pitched his vocal up to sound like the female soul singers of his favorite 50s and 60s songs. Credited on the album as "backing vocals by Ann Coates" which is a cheeky reference to an area of the Smiths hometown of Manchester called Ancoats.

My mum bought me T Rex's first album when I was 3 as I apparently sang Telegram Sam constantly and I begged her to call my younger brother Marc which she did. To know Johnny had the same taste as me makes me feel...fantastic. He's my ultimate guitar hero.

@@rocdocsI'm getting into the Morrissey albums like Your Arsenal and Bona Drag albums these days. I'll be ordering those cds tomorrow and get the others as well later. I'm a Smiths fan but during Morrissey early years, I got into the Rave Techno genre(89-92) . I didn't appreciate Moz even though my friend Joey was so idolizing him. Now I'm liking and appreciating those records.

HIHIHI! ... I am a vegetarian too, but I hardly even told my friends! Infact I did all the opposite: with my rock band we used to take the p1ss on vegans ... my point of view was: if you like meat eat it, don't pretend you don't want to! I never liked meat and so I stopped eating it. Simple as that!
