This is played so laid back, the sound comes about a beat after the video...
Yeah it's really distracting esp if you're a trumpet player.
lol.
@@mjd4174 no. In this music it’s an amazing feeling, ESPECIALLY as a trumpet player. If it’s distracting to you then you just aren’t a mature enough player yet.
@@clawboss2028 I’m pretty sure he was talking about the video delay not the sound itself.
@@natekaplowitz Maybe the original commenter was, but definitely not the guy who replied. How would the video delay be a distraction to the trumpet player IN the video?
...and as for the band, the definition of time.
Like I tell my band, "Everyone is a timekeeper."
glad to hear something so melodic and not a "how fast can you play contest."
Exacto!!!!
One of the most tasteful trumpet solos ive ever heard!
Snooky is another great who I didn't really know about until after he was no longer with us. Amazingly beautiful solo!
His soft, tender tone draws the listener in. Genius.
Mastery of instrument, style and performance - what a skill to play the trumpet like that. Love it
Absolutely perfect! We miss you Snooky!
Exquisite melody. Thank you God for this amazing music & these talented artists. This is what heaven must sound like :)🥰
Snooky was a gift from God...... ❤
Snooky Maestro!!! Celestial!!! ❤❤❤👏👏👏🎺🎺🎺
Fantastiskt......
Purest soul and beauty and sentiment. Snooky spoke through his horn with love, tenderness, strength, clarity, and meaning.
Nothing more, nothing less, just perfect!
Silky smooth
so tasty...
So Sweet! Snooky was the master of the plunger mute.
He played this in Tokyo.
One of the greatest of all time
Too tasty for words.
SNOOKY AND HARRY EDISON 2 OF THE BEST VEVER
yeahhhh jazzz
I like how the band looks like they're all in their 50s+ and the music resembles that so well lol
@Kyle, do you have a pdf of this transcription please?
Yes, it’s free on my website kyle-silver.github.io/transcriptions/lil-darlin/
@@kyle-silverbeautiful job on the transcription, and thanks very much for you generosity in sharing it, Kyle.
very tasteful :)
Enjoyed that . Thanks
Smooth
What a beautiful music !
Lovely
Good work, although the solo sounds very similar to the version I have on Basie's "Corner Pocket" (th-cam.com/video/CymvzVadSwc/w-d-xo.html)
You're talking about the Lil' Darling solo on that records, right? I believe it's one of those solos that kind of get played the same every time, with some slight variation / ornamentation. Like it's become a part of the arrangement at this point. Fun fact: I actually played this during my couple of years in the big band in music school. The thing was written out completely and I was asked to play it that way. You try to put some feel into it, but the notes stay the same.
