I wish I could turn down the brightness of the lights, turn off vibrations, and I don’t need Pikachu announcing to the world I’m connecting my Gotcha.
Pikachu sounds can be turned off (in the menu or manual override on the device) but 100% agree vibes and lights need an off button.
Same with the pokeball plus!
I seen someone on Reddit take theirs apart and remove the bulbs and vibration.

Bro thats my drama right there. I tried to leave my plus on overnight, but i found out quickly how invasive it really is and had to wrap it up in a pair of socks (worn twice) to muffle the vibrations and cut out the flashing. There really needs to be a full silent mode, a do not disturb function.
Hey Zoe, I believe the struggle with the plus identifying pokemon and how it works is actually connection problems within the game itself, I think that them listing the Plus+ has caused a few bugs, a lot of devices aren't working like they used to, so hopefully Niantic sorts out their bugs soon, great content!
Agreed- my poke ball & poke walker plus have both been buggy for the last week.
whenever you pair/connect the device, you have to go into the settings and turn off/on the setting to detect pokemon. If you don't it wont recognize any pokemon at all

It works for me after connecting and toggling the See Pokemon and Stops sliders on and off
Yeah, that's what I've been doing to get it to work, but just toggling the options doesn't seem to work for me, but I've found unpairing and repairing gets it working just like before, whereas before though you just had to click on the pokeball to get it to reconnect, they just seem to be ironing out a few kinks, that's not to say the pluses aren't usable, I've still been able to use mine using the above method 👍

If its not an inconvenience i think a catch and general ease of use comparison would be nice to have.
The biggest deal for me was that you could reconnect it without having to push the button on the device itself. Over time it became so annoying to stop every hour, to stop the flow outside to stand there for minutes trying to reconnect the device again.

I have a Go-tcha Evolve and just realized it wasn't catching anything anymore. I hope they fix it as well.
Pair. Go into setting. Turn off the switches and back on for the Pokémon and stops.

I've paired make sure it's white in settings then turn on off the catch and spin on settings a few times.
Seems to work with go plus so should with gotcha

I love that we finally can use great and ultra balls but think its really dumb that those have to be done manually. Whats the point of having that option to toggle those choices on and off if you still have to do it manually, that doesnt make sense. It's a cool update but I'll probably wait until a 3rd party device comes out that is just a better version of this. Im currently using the gotcha evolve and its working just fine for now.
Good video! The Trainer Club did do a video comparing the new ++ to a Gotcha... but having more data points would be great. And a little competition between you and your mate is always fun to watch.
Have to say, been enjoying the Plus+. Never owned one back in 2016 and been waiting for this since it’s announcement! It’s helped me catch over 400 random in two days - look out fleeceking! 😂
Only 700 item and Pokémon storage, so I think this would be useless for me
Do not trust this comment - plus will never catch "400 in two days". Autocatcher with red balls can't catch such amount even if you are walking and there are no connection problems - autocatcher miss 4 from 5. But if you are going to use blue/legend balls this is not a plus catching but you - just with fance button accessuare. Plus is only accessuare.

I luckily pre-ordered mine, it’s what I’ve been waiting for Nintendo to finally deliver on, an auto catcher that does what the third party ones do.
I’ve had issues before connecting third party auto catchers which is why I stopped using them, so an official Nintendo branded one that actually works with the game as intended is nice and with new features.
Even though we had the Plus/pokeball Plus, this one is much better. The design is simple, I like the flat disk design and the auto catching during work was great, never needed to open my phone except to reconnect.
I did add my own wrist strap and a USB-C dust plug to protect the connection port. Plus I’m getting a Crystal case to protect the body of the device. Overall I’m happy with it!
The issue with the marerp is a similar issue iv had with the OG Go+. If the Go+ is in the middle of catching a mon and you catch it manually the go+ will get jealous and not catch anything for a few mins.

A Go Plus Plus is £50 quid in the UK - for that kind of money I’d assumed there’d be a testing phase or two in their product development cycle… maybe where they’d notice how irritating it is to have a vibrate that the user can’t disable… but heyho 🤷

I would be satisfied if even the auto works even with all the vibrating and bright lights but on my iphone even auto options don't work 95% of the time, so frustrated with this. I am going to return my ++ when some other company releases their ++ equivalent device which will probably be 10 times better than the ++

there is already a mod to get rid of the vibration feature on the ++ and if you wanna get your Snorlax faster there is a way for that too (see Trainer Tips)
It definitely needs some updates. It will no auto catch or spin stops at times. The only work around is to disconnect by taping the poke ball icon and then turn off auto catch for both, then connect ball again and turn the auto catch features on... annoying niantic for 60 dollar device
I can see them turning off vibration also it will help extend battery life
Recently since last update I have to go into the attached device settings page and exit back to the main screen just to get my connected Gotcha to start catching. Seems the updates have got some bugs affecting all auto catchers!

It's like Alexa in the pocket while sleeping = very evil device with cute sounds that records whatever you say while sleeping. I don't think we need a 3rd party device to record sleep when we have our smartphone to do that. Auto catch and pokestop spin can be a in-built feature in the game other than using PkmnGo++ device.
I found quite often, if you manually try to catch a mon with the Plus + active, it will stop attempting pokemon for a second, or until you move around a bit and encounter new mons.
Since they updated for the new GO Plus +, I’ve been having issues with my PokeBall Plus not picking up spawns. What I did to fix it was that every time I restart the game, I unpair the PokeBall and then repair it and it starts picking up the spawn immediately.
Every auto catcher are kinda bad after last update,dont catch half of what its used to

i am pretty sure it doesn't autocatch outside the first ring but will spin stops up to the second ring. That is why it wouldn't catch the mareep
I use one of those unmentionable third-party devices, and the main differences between my device and this one that I dislike are the size of the device (mine is smaller than my finger, super discreet) and the vibration that you can't turn off (also, discreet). I do like the ability to reconnect just through the app, without having to press a button on the device.
If Niantic/Nintendo are open to feature requests: I would love to be able to set an auto-spinner to not spin stops I haven't spun before, and to not spin if my field research is full :D

I think the pokemon have to be in the first circle to catch with the Go Plus +, the extended range will see, but not catch. Glad the Pokestops cover further.
maybe just a faulty device or bug but im having connection issues but not all the time. worked fine all day yesterday but today its bein a little inconsistent. Had to reconnect a few different times and auto hitting stops just stopped and i had to go back and take all settings off it and restart both app and plus and then it still sometimes wasnt workin. love the device and working properly its amazing. They fix the bugs and its 100% worth. you can have it indicate stops only and spin them auto if youre actually playing. town in car though you should auto catch or in raids auto catch works too.
and by in raids i mean it auto catches pokemon outside the raid, you still catch the pokemon at the end. it hits the stops while raiding to which is killer
There was supposed to be event field research, but it all requires the Plus plus. 🤷♀️ And komala is not spawning much at all. I drove all around town for 2 hours and only saw one. Have been checking from home for 2 more hours and none spawning or on nearby.
The bugs apply to all devices. You have to turn your options off, and then turn them back on in the menu to get them to work after connecting your device. Also if they were going to copy someone else's features they should have taken the quick connect tied to both the button on the device and on the screen.
New subscriber. You’re having all of the same glitches I am having with the device…not seeing Pokémon’s or not throwing the great/ultra balls manually. Very glitchy. It lets many of the typically stronger Pokémon escape. Anyway, still cool for giving my shoulder a break from spinning and catching low IV Pokémon. Yours is the best review so far. Thanks! You didn’t glide by the functions and bugs. Look forward to future tips on getting the most outta this device.
Reading through the comments it seems like not many people picked up on the Gotcha wink wink (nice one Zoe! 😄). I have the Gotcha Ranger and been super happy with its performance but I still grabbed a Plus + as I’m a sucker for the exclusive Snorlax.

My original Gotcha died a while back, and I miss it badly. I am trying not to spend any money on this game unless I really have to. I had thought about getting the Plus+, but the only feature it could have had that made it worth it to me is being able to use any ball in auto catch...it can't do that.
The Mareep was a daily spawn. The Pokemon Go Plus Plus will not catch daily spawns only natural, incense, and lure spawns. This has been a known issue since the original Polemon Go Plus since they added the daily spawn feature after the pandemic.
It wasn't, there was no ring around it.

I have heard if you turn on silence mode on the plus+ it turns off the lights, vibration, and sound!!!
In Las Vegas you missed the first throw on a Kyogre I asked you to catch for me. I literally LOLd when you missed the first throw and said nailed it.
A couple people in my Raid group had their new Go Plus+ vibrate off a table!
Got myself the Plus + just today. Spent a day with it and I’m happy with it, first gatcha item for the game. Gorgeous little animals Koalas are. Seen them once in a zoo back in the day in the uk years ago, those little things are awesome. Save the animals 1000%

I don't understand why it has bugs on release. Testing seems to be a general issue for Niantic. I'll wait for the gotcha reverse engineer. No vibration or pokemon noise.
The only difference I see is the ability to pick who ball is used. It really seems like a big Pogo Plus. Hoping I can get back to using my Gotcha soon.

go pluses have been acting weird since they made the changes that caused the spawn radius bug a few weeks ago. they literally only fixed the part of the bug that accidentally made the game fun and ignored all the other issues it caused

I've been having a lot of connectivity issues. I reinstalled the game and it wasn't linking to my account, I reseted the go plus+, and it's been a lot of problems
My Gotcha stopped catching and spinning even though it’s connected and set correctly. Does Niantic have anything to do with this or is it just a “coincidence “?
I turned everything off, in essence rebooted, and reconnected my Gotcha, now it’s working again.
Imagine the vibration kills the battery cause it’s constantly vibrating? 🤔🤦🏻♀️

Watched the whole gangs reviews on this, your the only one I seen mention driving. I bought one today. Been a joy, but if your after stops mainly while driving and farming, your better to turn auto spin on Pokémon off.
Could you revisit this if these bugs has been fixed in like two weeks time?
Does it keep catching with ultra balls if you are strapping down the button? I am already working on an auto-catch-case
so the key point is that to use the Blue or Black ball, you have to manually click on it (cannot press and hold). Well, so I cannot set it to auto mode? Seems like time to build a Lego auto click robot
It would be nice to know how many ball's are trown per hour. And if this is different to other devices.

I do wish that there was a way to silence the gadget. I silenced Pikachu because my dog heard it too many times. After the fourth time his eyes got huge, he snarled at it, and then he tossed it. Vibration bothers him too. Going to need a protective case. It does catch and spin well but I hate all the step it takes to get it set up.
Would love a more in depth test please. Pre-ordered in the UK so have until 21st for release and from what I've seen so far, I think I'm regretting it HAHA
Hard to tell if the issues were with the new device or the recent issues with all devices having difficulties catching Pokémon. Also not sure why Niantic hasn’t made this more known to the players 🤔
All devices are having trouble spinning, too. Many people think it is deliberate to get people to buy their Plus plus instead of what they have.
If they made it widely known more people would not buy/pre-order which in turn hurts their bottom line... Call me a cynic
@@Andreamom001 Well I bought the new ++ and it just refuses to do auto, 95% of the time since I bought it I have had to click it everytime it vibrates to spin a pokestop or catch a pokemon, absolutely terrible product and it sucks that the new release has caused older devices to not work as well either...

Pretty sure that the Go Plus Plus is because it’s not in the “Pokémon circle” around your avatar. I doubt they bother fixing it
I have an irregular sleep pattern. So even if you can share with others, 7 day thingy makes me say no.
If you want to play the system, as long as the Go ++ registers minimum 2hrs of sleep it counts toward the task. You can always turn the Sleep Mode on, take a 2hr nap and then Sync with the App. It will count towards the Task. I tried it and on Day 0 (launch day) i was on 1/7 Days straight
@@sayomom Apparently you don't even need to actually sleep - just put the device on a table or something until your "nap" time is over.
I'm not an Aussie so I don't really have a right to say anything but it is incredibly frustrating that politicians will look at a national animal like a Koala and just go "nah, f*ck em." like you're a politician for your country right, why not try and preserve what makes your country unique? Every square inch of my country has been meddled with and we have no natural (non man made) forests left to show for it, it is such a waste, I really hope Australia doesn't follow that example. Preserve those forests, save the Koala!

Glad I watched your video before I ran out to get mine. Don't think that research is worth the $55 for a buggy experience. I'll stick with my current device.
I like the plus + but it didn't sync my sleep last night to pogo, hopefully the reset i did fixes but seems like a great auto catcher especially if your out driving around it picks up some mons with out having to strap the go plus around the pokepall to hold it down. Plus snorlax with a sleepy cap will be great. Wish Komala was an Aussie only but atleast his in the game.
Likelihood of me buying one of these is near zero but I definitely want Alan's commentary to testing both and obviously getting more shinies than you doing so 😂😂😂
I also found that it does pick up Pokémon before they show up on the screen and sometimes even try’s catching them before they even show haha. I also found it has more fled the catch. I’m not sure if it’s not picking up on my catch rate and try and match or not. This is the very first one of these things I ever had haha.
Looks like the sleep data can’t be synced to your account and a family members account on the same day. It might limit syncing the data to the first account the Plus+ pairs with after sleep. So, if sharing with fam or friends, you’ll have to finish your 7 days of sleep tracking, then lend it to them.

I just ordered it for pick up and came to pick it up and I'm opening it right now all in less than an hour thanks to this video.
I just bought mine they should disable the sound and vibration it's only a software update.

Hey Zoë, I got one. It’s awesome. Except. Every time the app crashes and I reconnect it to my iPhone. It won’t auto catch or spin anymore. And it won’t work either if I toggle the feature on and off. And don’t bother call ing nintendo support. There no help. And I still haven’t heard back from Niantic about it either. I sent them this issue two days ago. So not sure what to do next. Do you have any suggestions? Please and thanks.
what does the side button do?
Used for pairing, silent mode toggle for Sleep alerts (with main button) and for battery level check.
Until they fix the issue with it not doing stuff right away, it isn’t worth it. It feels like a downgrade

I noticed the Plus + has issues with Pokemon outside the main spawn circle. The spawns across the street from my house take a while to register for capture attempts. Also it just outright ignores some Gimmighoul from the coin bag, but not all of them. It's weird.
I've been having issues with my game or maybe just my phone where it doesn't keep track of my GPS when it's in standby, which caused the Plus + to ignore all the stops on my way home from work today. I dunno if that's a wide spread thing or again just my phone.
It is a cool device, I just hope they fix some of the minor issues that came with the launch of it.
Still unsure if I’ll pick this up. I still have the OG GO+ and I clip it to my hat when I’m out playing. It’s very convenient!
