      No , he simply lifted the body. There are 6 long bolts attaching the frame to the body. I was under my Quest today. Its already pretty beefy under there compaired to the Dodge Wimpy Vans. I think they over engineered the Quest. I have never seen that much metal except in my 1978 3/4 Ton Conversion van. As with any van, its a total bitch doing anything to the engine.

    When you made the spindle brackets did you drill all 3 holes in a line or did you drill one of them offset for camber?

    • @diymatt
      @diymatt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I traced the spindle holes and transferred the rubbing to the steel to get the exact locations. Then I ended up ovaling one of the holes to provide for camber adjustment. I bought camber bolts but they were too short. Kinda hacky, but the car doesn't get much use and it was enough to get them lined up enough to not cause damage.

      I ended up wallowing out the top holes in the strut a bit horizontally. The bottom ones are the same. That gave me the adjustability I needed. Once I got the camber as close as I could in my home shop I hit the highway a few times, gave things a few more wacks and measurements, and then did a tack weld of the top nut to the strut to keep in place.
      Yeah yeah yeah, but remember, this is just fun junk. Nothing serious.

      #diyMATT ok, after doing some research I am just needing to slot the top holes in the strut bracket. Do not slot the middle and bottom holes.
