Thanks for a great informative (as always) review! Got BTR7 & FH5s recently and this combination works just great, especially in a "sandwich" wired mode with a smartphone (LDAC is good enough, but blurs the details and dynamic range a bit) : ) Meanwhile sometimes I feel that bass and sub-bass is not enough, don't want to mess with EQ, but thinking to get another pair of IEMs, such as FD5 or maybe FD7, but not sure yet. Really interested in your opinion : )
Well, I think it's impossible to tell without trying, as FD's bass is more impactful, but not more weighty, so it's a matter of what are you lacking: impact or weight )))
Hello, in my tests I easily got up to 10 meters without issues. But the same applied to BTR5 There are lots of factors that can impact Bluetooth: interference, transmitor's power, selected coded (for example LDAC with SQ priority almost constantly having issues for virtually any device I had)

And if not Can you recommend the best option of adapters for the Fiio Fh7 ? Thank you so much .
Yes, BTR7 is better, more technical and resolving. But UTWS5 is more convenient. As for my suggestions, FiiO announced BTR7 successor this year, so I'd wait for this release and see what it'll give.

Is it overall better, worse or pretty much the same?
You know, it's a question without the distinct answer. With some power-hungry cans, of course K5 Pro is an obvious choice But with more sensitive models it's more a matter of preferences. K5 Pro does a bit better in terms of "macro", offering bit more forward emotions and better dynamics, while BTR7 is ahead in "micro" domain. there is no lossless bluetooth. even LDAC that is promoted as "lossless" is a lossy indeed. as far as I understand what CarPlay is, there is no possibility to use some in-between device. but you can connect this receiver to aux in of you car music system, and it will work this way. it also has a convenient "in car" mode to simplify this usage
Great review as always. I've looked at people saying the btr7 performs almost as good as fiio's flagship daps, in wired mode. How exaggerated is that claim, or are they indeed comparable..
Pretty much exaggerated :) Probably it's based on "same chips = same sound" idea. BTR7 is indeed great. Really good sound, especially for this price and size. But definitely not on level of M15 and M17 :) And even M11 Plus is better. Of course not proportionally to the price better, but it's a law of diminishing returns
@@PortaFi makes perfect sense.. why would Fiio make their expensive product obsolete by launching an inexpensive one.. besides, btr is a streamer with a dac & amp at the end of the day.. it has its place, but not to a point of replacing a dap
while it sounds good, the screen and buttons implmentation is horrid! the screen is much larger but entire screen shows LDAC! and the vol numbers are now even smaller than that of BTR5. the buttons....if you wanna pause music, you have to tap once to wake the screen, then tap again to pause. and the screen dont even show that you have paused the music. why wake up the screen then??? a complete waste of its bigger colour screen. e.g. it will be more logical if the screen change to show the volume when one is adjusting it. and number changes colour like red if passed 60 to show harmful loudness and green to show normal listening volume etc so that the colour is information. really great sound and poor UI.

As you often mention layering in your videos, would you please recommend example of a minimum audio set up in which I would be able to experience such fine details etc. Please include a DAP or a DAC/AMP and a pair of iems or headphones. This might be a good proposal for a separate video production. God bless you. Slava Ukraini. Sani
Well, to fully experience it in the IEMs you'll need something like CA Andromeda, or, let's say some IMR models (especially ones with ES) For the sources, FiiO's M11 Plus, iBasso DX240… But it's not a complete list, it's just a few random examples that came to my mind If one can consider second-hand models, choice can be broaden even wider

Does this give you lossless bluetooth, and can I use it with Apple Carplay?
there is no lossless bluetooth. even LDAC that is promoted as "lossless" is a lossy indeed.
as far as I understand what CarPlay is, there is no possibility to use some in-between device. but you can connect this receiver to aux in of you car music system, and it will work this way. it also has a convenient "in car" mode to simplify this usage
Uglier, much bigger to the slim btr5, viewing the review to see if it is necessary when btr5 works well with my iems. Z did not said anything about it
BTR7 is indeed created for those who need more power. And it delivers it. For sensitive IEMs it doesn't make a big sense
while it sounds good, the screen and buttons implmentation is horrid! the screen is much larger but entire screen shows LDAC! and the vol numbers are now even smaller than that of BTR5. the buttons....if you wanna pause music, you have to tap once to wake the screen, then tap again to pause. and the screen dont even show that you have paused the music. why wake up the screen then??? a complete waste of its bigger colour screen. e.g. it will be more logical if the screen change to show the volume when one is adjusting it. and number changes colour like red if passed 60 to show harmful loudness and green to show normal listening volume etc so that the colour is information. really great sound and poor UI.
the only solution here, is to write suggestions to FiiO. maybe they'll take them into account in future (but it's not highly likely IMO)
Hi. Sani
Well, to fully experience it in the IEMs you'll need something like CA Andromeda, or, let's say some IMR models (especially ones with ES)
For the sources, FiiO's M11 Plus, iBasso DX240…
But it's not a complete list, it's just a few random examples that came to my mind
If one can consider second-hand models, choice can be broaden even wider
@@PortaFi Thank you. God bless. Sani.
@@suncani thank you! all the best wishes to you too!
