I caught this live, it was amazing. I have no idea how Nathan was, at the same time, doing his magic with the code while answering questions from the live viewers, mad skills. Definitely try to catch his next live stream, it's great fun!
As someone who has only dabbled in programming, years ago. You make this entire process intriguing & enjoyable to watch. Your brain clearly works at a high capacity and it shows in your spoken language, ability to explain & conceptualise to the viewer, tasteful humour, and of course your impressive debugging & reverse-engineering skills. You also put a highly respectable amount of time & effort into your videos. My only gripe is that I wish your pre-recorded videos were longer! But that's probably unrealistic as uploads would take longer than they already do. Keep up the sick work mate 👌
I’ve got only very basic knowledge of programming, but I really enjoy your videos. Now I got even more appreciation for all the cracks and code generators back in the days….
Ah! I can't believe I missed this live. I wanted to ask you what you thought of Lua skills? For reversing retro games Lua is great for making a little GUI that shows you the value of different memory addresses, hooking into things, etc. Do you think Lua can be helpful for more advanced RE stuff? Or is it almost entirely a scam?
Very interesting thanks so much for this channel. Are there tools/plugins within Ghidra to recraft the decompiled C into C that will 100% match the function ASM?
you're much smarter than me, I feel stupid watching your vids because you're smart. I made a horribly pointless 'thing' that obfuscates files in verbose nonsensical english sentences.
I have the original version of the game from EA App. It sadly requires me to be online all the time. Is there a workaround? (I haven’t watched the video yet)

I wonder what it says about me that after finishing flare-on, in my free time I watch other people reverse engineer ;)

Any language can be used for the tasks you described. For example you could use rust, C, or zig to build a hooking or memory scanning tool
There’s no wasted effort in learning a new language

But you did make that 'thing', and that's something to be proud of!
