Boots that arrive for repair at Steve's leave the shop looking better than the day they were bought. Little things like removing build-up from the eyelets are the kind of attention to detail I wish more people practiced.
Those look awesome. I've restored and re-welted and resoled a couple of pairs of vintage moc toes for myself, and converted them from a lug unit sole to a Christy sole. I put a full thickness leather sole on them as a midsole with a deep channel for the stitches so that I can sand them and glue new wedge soles on them several times before having to take them completely apart again. I learned that trick from you. I'd give my left nut for a sole stitching machine though, lol. Doing everything by hand is brutal.
I very much like that your aesthetic talent matches that of your craftsmanship. A well made item enhances its beauty and vice versa, and you definitely achieve that concept. Thanks.

Steve, you are an inspiration. Over the last few days, I treated my cracked old leather Chesterfield sofa. Nothing fancy, just a couple of coats of Kiwi shoe polish then some conditioning cream. I doubt you'd be impressed but by my standards ... hey!

It's amazing how similar our trades seem to be when it comes to others in the same trade and customer relations. It's a regular occurrence to have someone bring in a piece of jewelry where it was clear the previous jeweler either didnt know any better or just didnt want to put in the time. When it comes to the actual customers, I always have a little giggle when they call on the phone and say something like, "I have a ring that is broken, can you fix it?". Most of the time I will tell them to hold the ring up to the phone so I can see........some actually do it. In our businesses, there is cheap and fast and then there's right and dependable.
I just recently found your channel. I have been trying to catch up on your videos. I am amazed at your skill and persistence in perfection. I remember my dad always said to take pride in your work and give it your all. I can see that you really love what you do. I hope that there are young people out there that like working with their hands and want to continue in a remarkable career. These type of skills are handed down generation to generation. Loved this video with that bolt of color. Keep up the excellent work. We'll be watching.🥾🤩

I use neoprene glue for other applications.... Thanks Steve for the hammer time ! You taught me how to properly use this glue and make a perfect bond.
The rain washes the crap out of the air and makes it easier to breathe.
