    Matt, your Container Terminal looks great and i just hope mine looks as good as yours.
    One question for you, have you done a video on how you put metal strips or magnets in your containers.
    And a in depth video on your sound system that you added, if not are you going to do one? cheers Robert

      Hi Robert, yes I did a short bit of video on how I put the metal adapters in the containers , will have to search through for which video and will post in reply. On the sound part that was very complex needing a double pole double switch , if I remember , arrangement that whilst the crane spotlight on the control pad it also ignites the sound file which I created and looped onto a sound system the clip only in this video. but it’s not very detailed as I didn’t want to pull all the kit back out after I got it working all nicely, if it ain’t broken don’t fix it , mess with it . If your controlling off a DCC controller then I think it probably possible to set cv settings of a sound decoder to the same as the left , right movements. Cheers Matt

      th-cam.com/video/_r2asnt9zos/w-d-xo.html 1:55 onwards for the container adapters , probably other ways of doing it with a type of metal that is more conductive to the crane magnets but it holds just about if you get it all lined up with magnets to the top of the bolt faces.

      @@SolarRailway Thanks and like your idea as well, i also have some spare Heljan containers that i also may take out the metal strips and put into others cheers Robert

      @@SolarRailway Yes the sound seems to be a bit tricky and maybe i will just add the sound to the video when i finish
      doing the scene by down loading crane sounds, thanks again cheers Robert

    Thats brilliant. You can sit and load up your container trains while the other trains are running around the layout. Looks like great fun cheers Andy

    You need a heljan traverser to go on the end of the container lines. Both excellent bits of kit

    • @SolarRailway
      @SolarRailway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that would have been excellent but couldn’t find one in time so instead it adds a nice operation to moving the locos about

    • @RaysRailVideos
      @RaysRailVideos 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest mate ive got one on Penna Lane and there not that good, handy bit of kit but too complicated and not well built, theres not much to it really either and as such we have totally modified ours the original operating system has been replaced with a 6 pin dcc loco chip for drive function and light control and it works so much better now. You could easily make your own up.

    Fantastic ,and the control easy to understand ,can this still be purchased and if so I presume its expensive ,but prob worth the money for the amount of playability .

    Hi, thanks for the video. Any chance you could measure the distance between the crane rails? I'm thinking of getting one but all the info I found was the baseplate size, which I won't be using. Thanks!

    Hi. Is the Soundmodul standard with the containerterminal or where did you buy that?

  • @collinsngauge5493

    Hi Bin that's very special did it come motorised or did you make it do all of that. Colin

    • @SolarRailway
      @SolarRailway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      All comes motorised and ready out the box to play with

    The end of the depot would it not be a run round or is what you do standard practice.
    Can you run Crain hoist on DCC or has got to be its own controls. Could you auto set it so have sencors in the containers some how

    • @SolarRailway
      @SolarRailway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crane can operate on DCC controls but I prefer the ‘manual’ element of the push buttons on the control pad whilst I can use DCC controller to run the trains, thanks for watching

  • @davidclelland8105

    Hi, my hoist doesn’t go up or down but when the buttons are pressed, the motor still turns. Any ideas?

    • @SolarRailway
      @SolarRailway  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, the motor and associated cog teeth in the top hoist compartment has come loose, this is a really poorly designed part and gets worn quickly if been used heavily.

  • @mtty1988
    @mtty1988 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dose the Crain allow you to operate off the railway on lorries and that. If so why not add faller DCC road and have that so lorries can come in get containers and move out.

    • @SolarRailway
      @SolarRailway  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did look at a faller road system but unfortunately ran out of space to take the lorries off-scene
