    Very nice to see. I'm not very good at keeping track (no pun intended) of all the 3rd party options out there. The option to move the switching unit to either side of the point looks great.
    I'm expecting some 3D-printed R104 curves as part of my Brick Train Awards prize. I'll be sure to report back on how well they work!

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trixbrix ones are supposed to be good too, but these injection moulded ones... ooft! Thanks, Andrew!

  • @box1444
    @box1444 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I have 4 sets of these and they are very good product. They are injected molded and not 3-D printed. Only problem is sometimes the small rubber band in the switch will slip off but all you have to do is pop the back of the switch off and re-set it. BrickTracks is very customer service friendly as well.

    People who have RC LEGO trains get all of the good custom train tracks.
    It's difficult to find any good custom train tracks for 9V LEGO trains.

    Now what I need to see is the BrickTracks "R104" products compared with TrixBrix's "R104" products.. need to determine which one is best for future projects!

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can say from experience, go BrickTracks. Trixbrix is a great manufacturer of track, but injection moulded pieces will always be better than 3D prints. The switch mechanism is much more sturdy than the Trixbrix option. Again, only because it’s injection moulded.

    • @Britishbricks
      @Britishbricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trim line tape is really good for lining boilers and running boards. For letter I’d use fox transfers or any other model railway decal specialist. Cutting up old LEGO sticker sheets can also be handy.

    I swear, Lego should just bite the bullet and get rid of that old, clunky CITY themed track and take a leaf out of the third party options. Sometimes some of my family asks for advice on Lego sets and pricing, I always tell them to buy the name brand as it’ll last longer, but depending on their age, I tell them to get the big creator sets of miscellaneous parts, but if somebody were to ask me what tracks they should use, it’d take a monumental effort to not tell them to buy from a third party.

    • @diatonicdelirium1743
      @diatonicdelirium1743 ปีที่แล้ว

      They won't, not enough mass behind that and for children's rooms tight turns are great to keep things compact. I've recently bought some Aliexpress track, including r104 and r72, and have been pleasantly surprised so far: size and clutch are good, sturdy but flexible. Most are 100% flat which I can't say for some of my genuine Lego track, only the long r104 has a slight upward curve, same as my Lego curves.
