Bowser’s Super Eternal Fury (or at least a variant) actually made it into the Mario movie at one point! In the movie it plays in a scene Bowser is rallying his troops, and it does indeed look a little like a mosh pit!
The entire time you're playing Bowser's Fury, there's an internal clock ticking down. There are two states for the game, the state where Bowser is awake, and the state where Bowser is asleep. When the internal clock ticks all the way down, the game changes states and the clock resets and begins ticking down all over again. At certain thresholds of game progress you unlock access to an item that allows you to effectively fight back against Bowser, and beating him forces the game back into the 'Bowser is sleeping' state with an extension on the internal clock for that instance of the state.
Bowser's Fury theme, at least the first version, was used in the Super Mario Bros movie, when Bowser and his army are celebrating the obtaining of the superstar.
The duality of the whimsical and jazzy tracks during daytime (cat-themed wonderland), and pure intensity and headbanger tracks during the night (Fury Bowser up to no good) for this game just works.
Where is timestamp guy? :( Fine, ill do it myself. 0:05 "Fury Bowser Awakens" 1:54 "Scamper Shores" 4:19 Member Shout-Out 5:14 "Chasing Down Bowser" 7:01 "Bowser's Super Eternal Fury/Bowser's Fury Version 3" 11:43 "Crisp Climb Castle" 14:36 "Fury Bowser Final Showdown"
I love how the awakens theme is HELLA reminiscent of the old school themes for classic monster movies like Godzilla. Very fitting considering, well, y'know-
Lake lapcat is an open world area with different islands you can go to to collect cat shines, while Bowser rests in his shell at the center of the map. After a while he comes out and will unleash his fury on you before going back to rest at the center again
In the first song, some of the brass in the background shares notes with the castle theme from Super Mario Bros 3. My source: My ears, I donno if it was intentional.
the "bowsers super eternal fury" is actually the third version of a song. I believe the second version is actually the only mario song directly copied and pasted from the mario games to the mario movie
They also directly lifted the DK Rap from Donkey Kong 64 (yeah, I know that's not a "Mario" game, but DK is part of the Mario world, so I thought it was worth mentioning).
Bowser's Fury is cat-themed because it's a side mode created for the Switch remake of Super Mario 3D World, the game that introduced the Super Bell power-up, which turns Mario into Cat Mario. He dons a cat suit (a match for his previous animal-themed suits like the Tanooki Suit and Frog Suit, rather than the sneak suit probably named after the alias of Gotham City's Selina Kyle) and gains cat-like abilities like a diving pounce, a scratch attack, and the ability to briefly climb walls with his claws. Anyway, with Bowser's Fury being a side-mode of that game's remake, and especially with Bowser getting in on the cat action with his own Super Bell as the final boss of Super Mario 3D World, can you blame the devs for taking the cat thing up to 11 when they had the chance? Pretty much everything in that side-game except for Mario and the Bowsers have cat ears. There's even a group of four cats running around on each island. It's cute that they swarm Mario if he approaches while powered up with a Super Bell. And of course, the cat theming wouldn't be complete without its centerpiece, the enshrined Giga Bells. After collecting a certain amount of Cat Shines, a Giga Bell awakens. Mario can collect it to turn into Giga Cat Mario. Giant Cat Mario with a Super Saiyan hairdo including the golden-blonde color. Mario can take damage from Fury Bowser's attacks in that state and he does revert from Cat Mario, but he stays giant even if he's hit again and forced into what has traditionally been called 'Small Mario'. The gigantification effect of the Giga Bell lasts until the battle is over, whether by Mario's death or Bowser's defeat. If Mario dies he has to collect the Giga Bell again.
Very impressive Soundtrack, i wonder what will be next. Maybe this Top 5 of other Games that i would like to see you react?: -1. Have A Nice Death -2. Nine Sols -3. AntonBlast -4. #BLUD -5. Penny’s Big Breakaway
Oh boy, Antonblast would be difficult to pick a short list for. Though I suppose for a starter, there would be: -Boiler City A -It's Happy Hour -Bomb Candy Mines A -Crimson Factory B -Bossbusters Theme -Payne and Heartache (Jewel Ghoul)
YAY MORE MARIO!!!! Hoping we don’t need to wait another 7 months for another Mario music reaction lol. Really hope you react to some Mario & Luigi music some day
You should listen to the: Crash Twinsanity Soundtrack Paper Mario Colour Splash Soundtrack Paper Mario Sticker Star Soundtrack Super Mario Party Jamboree Soundtrack
Omg im so glad you listened to Bowser's fury. Probably one of my favorites OST's ever. 🥹 Theres still a couple more amazing songs, like Plessie's ride, if you decide to do a part 2

We may be _rooting_ for Mario... _but we're _*_playing_*_ for Bowser._
this could also be under a mario and luigi bowser's inside story video
@WooperK Or the _Paper Mario_ series. Bowser has consistently been a _treat_ in those games.

If I'm not mistaken, it's a bit strange not having the base fury bowser theme here.
Eh its just the beginning that's different. Version 3 is arguably the best one
Bowsers theme from this game is legitimately one of the best boss themes in Nintendo history.
I love how the awakens theme is HELLA reminiscent of the old school themes for classic monster movies like Godzilla.
Very fitting considering, well, y'know-
Still funny how this thing was basically a free extension to an existing game
not having Mount Magmeow here is actually sinful
What the fuck are these names man XD
I love the synergy but man
Agreed!
I was waiting for that one!

Just want to add something. Mario beats bowser by turning into a huge super saiyan cat while riding on an also huge cat sea dinosaur.
On a DINOSAUR 😃
@ YES
A Sea Dinosaur that turns into a Cat
Believe it or not “Chasing down Bowser” is the final boss song not “Fury Bowser final showdown”
More like Chasing Fury Bowser is phase 2, and Fury Bowser Final Showdown is phase 1
Bowser's Fury is my favourite Mario game for the Switch! Crisp Climb Castle is my favourite in the OST, so glad it made it here!
Scamper Shores already makes me nostalgic. It's so contagiously joyful.

did you do the original 3Dworld btw? it's one of my favourite ost's of all time because i'm a sucker for jazz
Such a Good OST for such a short game
Scamper Shores sounds like a lovely stroll through a park
