At their level, nobody's "better" than anyone else, it's just a matter of personal preference. Like Rubenstein or Horowitz. Max Q was an all star group, which is a bit of a different matter.
If what's "cool" is to be uncritical and not care about giving the best show you possibly can to a paying audience, then yeah, maybe he's not being "cool". Personally, I'd rather spend more of my life trying to make something great than worrying about hurting someone's feelings when they're drifting flat.
I’m sorry I don’t like the leaving the stage and going through the pretense of being asked to come back it’s just false Why not stay on there until your finished and that’s it don’t come back There are artists that do that and I think that’s more realistic

It's just a conventional thing to do. Barbershop is all about the conventional -- and getting really, really good at it.
