    This is my "big" tractor on my farm. Mine has the hydraulic pfwd. Have around 25k hrs on it. Recently had transmission rebuilt, and about 2k hrs on a John Deere crate engine. My second tractor is 4440. Hard to find anyone still turning wrenches to work on them. I have to diagnose the problem myself and tell them what they need to do to fix them. And hope they don't cause more problems than they fix.....

  • @404nitro
    @404nitro ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Even before you said anything about how the spreader performs, I was thinking that is did one of the best jobs of any spreader I have watched on YT or in person. If I heard you right though, that spreader is actually just slightly above the power class of the tractor? 160 min for the spreader vs 155 for the tractor? It appeared the tractor handled it just fine to me, albeit with some minor wheel slip on some of the hills.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The farm really really likes this Pro Push. They like how it just eats up material.
      I am glad you mentioned the min power of the spreader vs the tractors Hp. I was hoping some one would catch that. When the 4640 was built most of the tractors were much hotter than advertised. A 4640 is advertised at 155 pto hp but most likely put on a dyno it can put out 175 to 200 hp with ease and not being turned up.
      Both Deere and IH in the 70s were conservative on advertised horse power. Basically they underpromised and over delivered.

    • @404nitro
      @404nitro ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigtractorpower I was just coming back to mention that maybe why it is handling it so well is because most machines turn up more HP than what they are rated at and if you look at the tractor data site, you can see that both companies still under rate what their machines actually turn up in the Nebraska tests when I saw your reply. You beat me to it 👍A JD dealer told me about them under rating their machines, even among machines as small as the compact utility class back in 2001.

    In my judgement, a conveyer chain running long the floor of the spreader would require less power than the pusher plate moving the manure to the beaters since the chain has a better ability to slip while the plate has no slippage potential but I may be wrong.

    • @bigtractorpower

      Power Shift allows you to push your shift through gears with out delay. Partial Power Shift means you have to clutch between certain speeds.

      @davegdm954 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @duanehenicke6602
      @duanehenicke6602 ปีที่แล้ว

      The quad range was the second option to the powershift. A,B,C,D with four gears in each range, plus reverse. 1 and 2 could be bumped up or down without clutch. Clutch and shift to 3 or 4 and you had the same options with those two gears.
