I agree with you Joseph. All this people demonizing Mr. Rodriguez, every single one of them sleep well at night under the blanket of freedom he and other heroes provide.
I don't know why people are calling this man a hero... There is no proof that torture even works, because many are trained to sustain it, and even if it did, what separates you from the enemy when you're willing to commit the same crimes that they do? Shooting a man, about to throw a bomb and kill hundreds is one thing, but torturing someone who you don't even know has information or will give it to you is another. Innocent lives being harmed and taken out of fear since 9/11 is one of the many reasons why civil unrest and terrorism will not decrease.
I don’t care about torture. I care about my country first and the innocent beyond that need our help. If torture is necessary to protect women & children to be safe so be it.
This is what happens in our society. After a while everyone kind of just forgets about why we're doing what we are doing. I think nobody would have had a problem with torture on September 12th 2001. But now, when some time passes, people just forget and don't care anymore. Now some people actually think the CIA investigators who were carrying out these types of interrogations are the bad guys. It's crazy.
Well, I do think that people who resort to torture indeed are "bad guys". Torture is ineffective in producing reliable intelligence and leads a society onto a very slippery slope. Nothing good has ever come of it. And frankly: It's disgusting.
Making the heads of various sects of lunatics explode. I mean, seriously one of the most credible guys you'll ever meet. Lays it all out there: calm, cool, and collected. Straight facts for every wild accusation.
Jose saved many American lives. Although "hard measures" were used to collect intelligence, these measures did not repeat not constitute torture according to the DOJ Office of Legal Counsel.. Further, every step of the way was vetted by the DOJ and CIA lawyers and by senior officials such as Jose. Initially Congress, the White House and the American people wanted to go all out to prevent another 9/11 attack. As time went by, however, this previous all-out support became more nuanced and weakened. According to Jose, hundreds of intelligence reports were produced by CIA debriefings of terrorist detainees. Observers knew that this initial support for an all-out efforts would decline over time, and CIA operatives would face sanction. Fortunately, the operatives went ahead to do their duty as they saw it to prevent another major terrorist attack on the United States. We haven't had another one since 2001. I don't think that was just a coincidence.

Yes, the other intelligence agency said that normal interrogation worked well but enhanced torture didn't but these guys say enhanced was the only way. Surely it'd make sense to use conventional methods before trying something else. Plus, if you were torurted to tell someone what they want to hear, would you not? Ofcourse you would, so you run the risk of getting a false confession

At Quantico is the USMC interrogation school where they still teach "The Gold Standard" of interrogation established by Pappy Moran in World War II. 10 or 15 years ago there was an excellent story in Leatherneck magazine about him.
“I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it.”...“We live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You?”...“I’d prefer you just said thank you and went on your way. Ahhh, the criminal colonel, a Marine who failed to keep his honor clean, .................and a character of fiction ......... @Diana Guest Thank you. I studied the subject of prisoner interrogation. Mt research led me to some career, professional military interrogators. There are two major reasons to oppose legalizing and adopting a policy of abusing and torturing prisoners. The first is the principled reason. Constitutional prohibitions on torture and abuse came in reaction to the brutal treatment of Americans captured by the British in the War of Independence. Despite having an army from the most powerful nation on earth marching to and fro at will across our fair land, they refused, on moral grounds, to be like the enemy. For hundreds of years we fought foes who tortured and abused American prisoners, but what good did it do any of them? When did information tortured out of an American ever help an enemy defeat us in battle? With this point is the fact that humane methods are incredibly successful and have been used by the most successful interrogators in history.. Americans should know that our military, law enforcement and intelligence agencies have very skilled interrogators who get lots of actionable intelligence from prisoners by using humane approaches. @@garfieldfarkle I agree torture doesn’t work . Here’s the thing Abu zubdya screamed panicked went crazy cause water boarding as did Muhammad attash and ramzi bin al shibh they all developed severe mental issues. KSM however was different never screamed , although complained never showed signs of obvious fear or distress didn’t even went to spams from “ the small box “and counted time when water boarding which is next to impossible . And deliberately misled his interrogators what does that tell us torture doesn’t work first it can cause severe mental issues in most people and a crazy terrorist won’t remember things even if he wants too, without trails hard how to know how important or unimportant he really is as well not accurately at least , second some people like KSM it doesn’t work on in general cause they been tortured in other countries or take some sort of mental counter measures where the torture doesn’t seem to break them and will deliberately misled the interrogators so they can’t get to real leads like how KSM misled them on bin laden courier . CIA always wastes tax payer money for their counter useless counter productive activities Remember MK ultra . But I agree one marine I think said KSM doesn’t respond to torture and “ clinches up “ but when you stop torture and talk to him nicely he seems to talk a lot and gives him and I quote “ MR Rogers Vibe “ lol .
being hispanic has nothing to do with it. this man is a torturer, and many americans oppose torture. john kirakou is the true hero here, and he's in jail while this torturer is free. he has caused more damage to the USA than terrorists ever could. (you are right, my comment about nationality was offensive. sorry.)
The way I see, it I'll take the risk of a known mass murderer and terrorist getting his feelings hurt if I have even a slight chance of saving American lives. I'm not saying to go overboard with it. Everything done to these guys is done to U.S. Military. Think about that, they get the same treatment as our heroes.
I just now realized what’s going on with the differing stories between the fbi and cia. Both want the credit for obtaining the information. Both want to be seen as effective.
I would drill holes and place stone tubes along the length and center of their bones throughout their entire skeleton allowing access for fluids at some point (pref. the shoulder region) in order to let extremely hot gasses or fluids to be run through them, giving the sensation of their skeleton being on fire but actually not damaging them in any way thats fatal. Then I would explain the process they had undergone and demonstrate it to them, being carefull to emphasize that they would never be allowed to die and would be made to suffer as long as physically possible if they did not release every single bit of information.
All these comments bashing this guy are just proof of yet another example of how "Americans want to eat the burger, but not meet the cow." We want to be safe, but then after its revealed that we slapped around a few terrorists you want to chastise those we put in charge of keeping us safe. Let these guys do their jobs and leave the spineless out of important decisions. If another 9/11 happened these same critics would be crying about why we didn't do more.
I don't think anyone can prove it either way. Enhanced interrogation can produce good and bad intelligence. Prisoners will tell captors anything they want to hear (true or false) to avoid suffering. The hunt for bin Laden didn't begin with fresh information for Mohammed. The name of bin Laden's courier, Abu Ahmed al-Kuwaiti, came from a detainee held in another country. This is what our current CIA director said. Rumsfeld didn't believe it led to Osama's death either. You might be right though.
I like this guy, when he said thee was no lack of imagination from the CIA in July of 2002, obviously eluding to the amount of ways they tortured those undesirables
He also admitted ksm didn’t react to it ksm said he mislead the cia and John McCain and later cia said same thing what’s the point when the guy being tortured is fine with it

The most successful interrogators in history utilized humane approaches.
But I agree one marine I think said KSM doesn’t respond to torture and
“ clinches up “ but when you stop torture and talk to him nicely he seems to talk a lot and gives him and I quote “ MR Rogers Vibe “ lol .
Jose Rodriguez has shark eyes.
"Who are the dark side? We are ..." finally someone straightforward :D
This man is a hero
being hispanic has nothing to do with it. this man is a torturer, and many americans oppose torture. john kirakou is the true hero here, and he's in jail while this torturer is free. he has caused more damage to the USA than terrorists ever could. (you are right, my comment about nationality was offensive. sorry.)
I’ve been awake for three days once never ever again
American hero!!
The way I see, it I'll take the risk of a known mass murderer and terrorist getting his feelings hurt if I have even a slight chance of saving American lives. I'm not saying to go overboard with it. Everything done to these guys is done to U.S. Military. Think about that, they get the same treatment as our heroes.
neither does torture.
It’s not waterboarding if you use diesel
Should have been called “no half measures” -M.E
This guy is well rehearsed.
Pro liar... took classes on how to lie and pass lie detector.
I just now realized what’s going on with the differing stories between the fbi and cia. Both want the credit for obtaining the information. Both want to be seen as effective.
Thank you for your service, sir!!!! #9/11 #RIPTonyellMcday #NeverForgotten
wow, this guy should be indicted immediately for war crimes. I can't believe how proud he is of breaking the law. Impunity no more!
jonrodrigues23 🙄🙄🙄
🤡
I would drill holes and place stone tubes along the length and center of their bones throughout their entire skeleton allowing access for fluids at some point (pref. the shoulder region) in order to let extremely hot gasses or fluids to be run through them, giving the sensation of their skeleton being on fire but actually not damaging them in any way thats fatal. Then I would explain the process they had undergone and demonstrate it to them, being carefull to emphasize that they would never be allowed to die and would be made to suffer as long as physically possible if they did not release every single bit of information.
To the pain!
Your youtube name says it all - Micro-minee!
This guy is not entirely truthful ...
are you even watching the video?
They put people in a small box with an insect in it?? Holy Shit, they got that idea from the movie "Hook"!!
This guy is great!
She has worst hair Ive ever seen on a woman.
I like this guy, when he said thee was no lack of imagination from the CIA in July of 2002, obviously eluding to the amount of ways they tortured those undesirables
He also admitted ksm didn’t react to it ksm said he mislead the cia and John McCain and later cia said same thing what’s the point when the guy being tortured is fine with it
Great topic and subject for an interview. But it is conducted so unprofessionally. Preconceived notions and assumptions. Closed minded. Conclusions already drawn. Not a great interviewer (at least here) by any means. Jose is completely awesome though. Handled the hostilities well. Thank you Jose for your service.
And it was completely unproductive. It gained no actionable intelligence. It says it all at the start, zero experience of the Middle East etc. In other words, completely ignorant.
U.S.A....U.S.A.....U.S.A....
We made KSM drink ensure !....Oh the humanity !
Ends justify the means
The bottom line is it didn't work.
God and the universe sees all
which side is leslie stahl's on? how dare she ask these accusotory questions?
We need more people like him and less like the jellyfish reporter....
Thank both of you for your support and I would love a in person polygraph tomorrow then protective custody and help convicting people involved in ransoms and hosteage of dado 3:11
He is the dark side and proud of it ! ..disgusting. We don't mean to hurt them we just want to instill hopelessness. Sleep deprivation is like jet lag. These people don't have hearts they are proud to be monsters who will do ANYTHING to please their paymasters! Cruelty and the ability to inflict torture on innocent people is the biggest requirement for the job .
Wow this guy is evil Jose is a evil man
Exactly, same here, and I've been waterboarded in SERE training, we do it to our own guys, there's no way you can call that torture.
Semper Fi Brother
Forest Hanke Really, you were water boarded 163 times and gave bs answers every time? Impressive. Sempre Fi. Although if you truly are a Marine you would know your code of conduct, rules of engagement and treatment of POWs. Basic SERE training does not include water boarding. Advanced SERE training is only given to those who successfully completed SF training, so don’t BS.
“PSYCHOLOGIST”
Good job Great job
Well my mom's not a mass murderer with information that could save American lives, so your whole premise is deeply flawed, but you already knew that. I never said I would waterboard a 9 year old, no matter what they know.
Not the first time in history it was Pearl Harbour
Ohhhh I see. I didn't realize you were one of those people. Sorry for bothering you, I was looking for a legitmate conversation.
This man is an animal
Putting someone in a "stress position" that's meant to tire them or denying someone sleep is not torture. You're being a whiny little cry baby. End of story.
p.s. "barbaristic" is not a word, I think you mean "barbaric" If you want me to take you seriously don't make up words. You're on the internet, there are countless dictionaries and thesauruses you can use if you need help in that department.
our homeland ?
