There is an approximately 1 inch wide gap between the metal disk - weather shield and the clear plastic cylinder that houses the light bulb and the fan motor below it. As the mosquito approaches the trap, the inrushing air movement from the fan catches them and sucks them into the gap, down through the fan blades, and out into the mesh bag below. If they survive the trip through the fan, they end up in the collection cup at the bottom of the trap. The CO2 from the sublimating dry ice and the light from a small bulb act as the attractant to get the mosquitoes close to the suction created by the fan.

Are you using co2 as dry ice or as a pressurized tank?
