Holy cow, I didn't expect to see a Lufthansa B747-8i to come to Singapore.
I didn't know they use their 748 for this route. That's awesome.
I've seen 747-8F plenty, but I've yet to see 747-8i in person.
They use 747-8, A359 and the occasional A340s
They deploy their B747-8 to Singapore on a daily basis. On top of this they also deploy their A350 from Munich to Singapore
@@aerowanderer it might change to an a380 from fra along with an a350-1000 from muc when new deliveries come. We will wait and see

My days in the RAAF when were based at RAAF Butterworth in Malaysia in the 1960's used to fly down to Changi when the RAF were based there.
My fave airport in my fave city! Singara Singapura!!

Absolutely. Especially with the likes of the B747 and A380 Vs the A320 and B737
@@aerowanderer Oh yeah, or even the 747 vs the Saab 340. People call me crazy when I tell them how much passenger planes differ in size, they think they're all pretty much the same size! Edit, the thing is that bigger planes usually fly higher giving the impression that planes are more uniform in size when viewed from the ground. A Cessna 172 at 3,000 ft will appear to be the size an A320 at 18,000 feet and a 747-8I at 36,000 feet.

I remember landing at Changi Airport in May 1955 when it was only a grass strip, and steps were pushed out to the aircraft for the passengers to alight. Today it is arguably the best airport in the world.
In 1955, Singapore airport was still at Paya Lebar. Changi airport is new, built on a reclaimed land and opened in 1981.

Boeing 787’s raked wingtips look cool, so does the slats on the wings
The B787 is one of the coolest looking aircraft. Indeed, the wingtips, slats and add to it the beautiful wing flex.
Some nice captures, with informative info as well. December 2024 fly London-Manila with SQ, with a 4 day stopover in SG. A380 LHR-SIN, B78X SIN-MNL-SIN, and B77W SIN-LHR as my hauls. Looking forward to it. Is it my imagination, but even with a super smooth landing there's a fair bit of puff from the tyres? Maybe the Singapore heat and humidity?

On that note, I believe the ground temperature could play a role during touchdown but it’s more with the piloting skills. On that note though, there was just a bit of crosswind at times.

In changi, where exactly are you filming from because the viewing mall is indoors with all the pannels and beams coming into the frame. You video has outside sounds. Where exactly at changi did you film from?
3:47 … and only 16 of the 20 MLG wheels have brake assemblies, but it seems to have slowed down enough to make the turn-off just fine.

I'm wondering why they used an A380 for Hong Kong - Singapore when the flight time isn't that long.
It’s not just about the flight time but passenger demand. That sector has not just a lot of tourist crowd but quite a number of transit and business travelers

The B737NG is an unsafe aircraft due to issues with the door frames being supplied by contractors with lack of precision skills.

Airasia can be only be spotted in Terminal 4 route as that terminal was build for low cost budget airlines like Scoot, Jetstar and Airasia. Terminal 4 is far away from the Main Terminal
