  • Welcome to the new Tuesday series, Wasteland Biographies. This series will cover the stories of people who lived in the Fallout Universe, both major players and smaller stories. I thought it would be nice to start with Randall Clark, the Survivalist. His story can be uncovered by exploring Zion Canyon in the Honest Hearts add-on for Fallout New Vegas. Settle in for a beautiful, tragic and dark tale. There are mentions of depression and thoughts of taking one's own life, so this may be upsetting to some people.
The survivalists story is mainly told through environmental cues, loot and intermittent journal entries found in a few caves around Zion. As well as his final resting place at the Red Gate. It's a detailed account of the immediate aftermath of the bombs, telling us how badly Salt Lake City in Utah was damaged. The Survivalist has been through a lot, dealing with survivor's guilt, dangerous Vault Dwellers, losing a second wife and son and finally becoming The Father in the Cave, helping a group of children set themselves up to survive in this paradise. These children went on to become the Sorrows, one of the tribes the Courier interacts with in Honest Hearts.
