Thanks Jim! I will have part 2 out on Saturday. We have 4 to 8 inches of snow coming on Sunday. I hope I can get to the tracks at some point this weekend! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Bill! Have a great weekend. We have a serious snowstorm coming in here Sunday and I doubt I`ll be out getting any trains. it`s supposed to be nasty!
Good made video, mr 1960gambit. Do you have a nice evening and night by changing the new year. A wish you and your family the best for 2025. Nice video in Walton KT with trains in the hurry on the rathole line from NS. Thx for this topvideo 🚆🚆🚆👍💪💪👍👌🚆🚆 in Walton Kentucky. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
You`re very welcome, Roelof! Yes, I had a good new year! We have a bunch of snow coming here on Sunday. It`s looking like I won`t be able to go to the tracks because of it. It`s supposed to be really lousy all day! Hope you have a great weekend!
Another great on Scott. Thank you for braving the cold to get it. And speaking of cold, we are getting the same storm you are expecting this weekend so stay safe my friend. Thanks again.
Thanks Lou! Yes, I already got the snowblower in the garage and ready to go. We could get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches they are saying. I`m going to try and get some trains on Saturday, then after that is anybody`s guess! Lol Be safe in this stuff!
The opening train was a long one for being loaded auto racks without a DPU, Scott. I have to say that the beginning of this video's theme song is haunting, in a good kind of way, if that makes any sense to anyone else. 😃😃😃❤❤❤
Hey Scott, when that New York Central heritage unit went by you were saying that it didn’t have no flat spots on it. Well while you were saying that you could hear it real loud in the background I bet you had had a busted wheel on it. I seen that happened here in my little town on a locomotive of Norfolk Southern. It was a southbound and the wheel broke half into cause they had to sit it out on the siding in my little town and they had to bring the dozer with the side boom on them to lift it up and change the traction motor but anyway, another awesome video my friend and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one. Oh, and I hope you have some good ones for us to watch this weekend.
Thanks Timmy! Yeah, I could hear the flat spots once I listened to the video back in my car. It was a lot clearer coming over my car speakers once I was away from the train and all the other noise beside the tracks. We got 4 to 8 inches of snow coming in here on Sunday. I hope I can get out to the tracks at some point before it hits! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Alex! We are not going above freezing for the next week or ore here. We have anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow on the way too on Sunday! Come on Spring! Have a great weekend over there!
That first NS be hoofin! Always love a good EOT DPU. Up here in Rhinelander we're just getting flurries and teens for highs but it sounds like you might get some real snow down there. Nice way to end it on a double EOT DPU plus heavy duty flatcar. Liked this one a lot, thanks Scott!
Thanks P! Yes, we have 4 to 8 inches on the way Sunday from what they are saying. I am already ready for Spring! We are not going above freezing for the next week or so too. Have a great weekend and try to stay warm!
Happy New Year, Mitchell! I`ll do my best to keep the videos rolling. Going to be tough this weekend. We have a major snowstorm coming Sunday and it`s supposed to be a doozy!
I retired from working track maintance on that line, I’ve worked that crossing many times, one of the best scares I ever had, CSX, has a line very close to that track, I had a smoothing gang, surfacing track, when a CSX train starts blasting its horn, my heart fell into my stomach, only to find out, it was on its own track! Worked that line between sharonville and Danville Ky for a long time, never got used to the CSX trains blowing on adjacent tracks, just out of site! Great vid, brings back great memories
That’s a great story! Thanks for watching! I go there at least once every couple of weeks. I really love filming on the Rathole. I have videos of it from the Ohio River all the way to the DeButts Yard in Chattanooga!
@ the old original CNO&TP, well, north leg of cnotp, a lot of folks don’t realize just how busy that line was, there was a point, right before I retired, it was running an average of 52+ trains a day, we would literally go days, sometimes weeks, if we were trying to work on single track! Great work 1960gambit, keep them coming, I just subbd! Look forward to next vid
That New York heritage DPU unit did had some flat spots when it went by you when you turned to the left and I heard it from my Bluetooth speaker Mr Scott
Yes, I heard them too and they stopped the train South of here and inspected it and I think they limped it to a yard and took it off the train for repairs. We heard them talking on the radio about it.
Fab video Scott, still using your new phone ? The picture is really sharp & audio is so much better! We got snow coming Saturday & its cold 22f! Have a great weekend Scott hope the weather not too bad. We got our snow shovels at the ready. 😅👍❤️
Thanks Carol. Actually, that is my old camera that I have been using for the past couple of years. I`m still figuring out the new one, but I should be using it soon. We got 4 to 8 inches of snow coming in here on Sunday into Monday. I hope I can get enough trains on Saturday to get a couple of videos out for Sunday and Monday too! Have a great weekend!
you know Scott for some reason i expected when that rack pull cleared to see Joey and jawtooth on the other side!! and rails do ,move with the weather a guy o the track gang told me they'll grow an shrink between 2 and 5 inches per mile that's why they can't lay new rail if it goes over 85 degrees!! and i think that was 28 she had C R England boxes on her i've never seen those on 26!
Jaw Tooth was here the day before we were. I knew the rails expanded and contracted in length with the temp, they must also change the gauge width a bit too I would say. I know those cars were really squealing at the crossing and I don`t ever recall them doing it that bad there before. It was loud at times! Lol
@@1960gambit that's a bit of a combo it's the rails shifting it;s angle a bit from the cold and the wheel itself shrinking according to my uncle who was in the car dept!
Speedy catches today! Great video Scott! Looking forward to the next installment!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Thanks Jim! I will have part 2 out on Saturday. We have 4 to 8 inches of snow coming on Sunday. I hope I can get to the tracks at some point this weekend! Have a great weekend!

Great video I enjoy the heritage units a lot!
Thanks Carlos! There`s another one in part 2 tomorrow!
@1960gambit now I'm excited Scott😁
A heritage unit for a DPU is awesome, my friend! It was on a long, fast mixed manifest to boot!😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤
I know! That was a fun one!
@1960gambit 😃😃
Keep the scrap rolling. Nasty weather coming. ❤😊
We got a bunch of snow coming this weekend, hopefully I can still get out to film!
The opening train was a long one for being loaded auto racks without a DPU, Scott. I have to say that the beginning of this video's theme song is haunting, in a good kind of way, if that makes any sense to anyone else. 😃😃😃❤❤❤
Thanks Gary!
@1960gambit You are so welcome! 😃😃❤️❤️

Nice catch the NYC heritage unit..Awesome video
We didn`t even know it was coming! It had flat spots on the wheels, and they limped it to a yard South of here and took it off.
Walton never disappoints. Two lines and good variety. Thank you. We have a cold snap in UK currently.
Thanks Alex! We are not going above freezing for the next week or ore here. We have anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow on the way too on Sunday! Come on Spring! Have a great weekend over there!
@1960gambit thank you!

You should see CN trains soon, there awesome to see too. Check it out when you can.
We do get CN locomotives through here every once in a while. I always like seeing them because they are a bit of a rarity.
