    Thanks for video. I am the original owner of a Honda 1011 bought in 2003. Engine runs fine but I am also struggling with height adjustment and I am afraid I have jammed the mechanism such that it won't go up or down. I have replaced the main belt 2 years ago just like instructions . But instructions start with lowering the mower deck and my lever is jammed. I can't lower deck !!! Any ideas.

    I accidentally discovered if I cut the engine off before the PTO, my belt NEVER comes off of the pulleys. I bought a new belt 5 years ago, but haven't needed it yet.

    Thank you so much for providing this video. I've had one of these since 2011 and all I've had to do is change the belt and oil. I like it because it's very reliable and a manageable size. It's a great and totally fun mower and it does a good job of cutting grass. I wish they still made these Honda mowers here in the USA. I would buy a new one today and keep this one as my very reliable back-up rider.

    Mr. Fix it , Excellent video . I have a question for you as I to am having the same problem with the belt slipping off the tensioner pulley when I raise the mower deck height . Where did you get the longer pulley ?

    • @FixerUpRon

      I got the pulley from a parts store... i took my pulley and matched it up with a longer pulley

    these are nearly indestructable machines. my big sunstar broke 2 yrs ago doing 3acre duty. i have 3 honda harmonys like this. i kept the homestead respectable mowing 3arces weekly, weeds ,crabcrass rots etc. no probs and they even stay outside....they are the machine equvilent to a sleddog! carbs clog easy tho but are ez to clean too. PS get a set of ag lug tires if you can find them.....it turns these into little tanks!

      I have never cleaned the carb on my H 1011. Could you please make a video on just cleaning the carb. Somewhere I was told the bottom bowl plug is not a drain plug . ??? .Thanks.

    • @crabtrap
      @crabtrap 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tomsnow51 no vid needed. 1. There are 2 plugs on bottom of carb. The angled on bowl plug is a drainplug. The plug on the very bottom is the bowl attaching plug to remove bowl. 2. Remove bowl and you will see a tube the bowl plug screwed into. Inside that tube is the carbs 'main jet', it has a flat screwdriver slot. 3.unscrew and remove using a flat head screwdriver bit. Use the bit ONLY, as it gives u access a reg screwdriver wont. 4. Once you get the jet out, soak it, clean it....and that will cure 95% of any carb probs.

    Hi...Enjoyed this vider....I just bought the same model used from a neighbor and am tuning it up. I'm having trouble getting the mower deck off. I followed the instructions...got the belt guide off....pulled the pin and got the rear part off the pin that holds it. But there is still a large spring going from thr frame to the deck AND a metal bar thats bolted to the frame and connected to the deck . The instructions say push the deck forward and "the link will drop>????????
    Any suggestions. Thanks

    pretty straightforward on rebuild on these great riders. Mine is 20+ yrs old. My wife loved to use it. Then it was getting hard to start. So I took it to a "mech" and he said I needed to adjust the electrical. that was a waste of time. I found the hard starting was the choke cable was hanging up and not choking. I fixed that and started in less than 5 secs. I removed the deck and cleaned the underside to get rid of the dings and dents and rust. I press wash and sandblaster to clean up the underside of the deck. I treated it with black jack roofing and some diesel. got the deck on now. and starting to replace the batt, ign. parts, handles, etc. this is a great machine, never used oil, and fuel consumption is good. good luck to you all "Meck an ick " from Humboldt Co. Calif.........

    You did a really nice job for the old Honda. I've got the same one and it's all original but yes somebody did to hit a surveying rod on the front of the mowing deck. Got that squared away and haven't had any more trouble out of it. Make sure you keep the front end greased and the air filter clean. Mine typically doesn't need the oil changed very often ..... liked most Hondas
