I remember the first time I saw Stonehenge. I walked from Avebury on a stormy November afternoon and got there to find myself the only one around. You could still go into the monument then and it was an amazing experience, wandering through the stones, looking down the processional way. Just amazing and well worth the long hike there (and back).

"It took a lot of bellowing." Well, Phil's good at that. He bellows at Tony all the time! (And they both have a good time!)

I don't think the copper dagger was completely useless. You could butter your bread with it or get mud off your boots. Slice and serve cooked fish. We shouldn't think in terms of war all the time.

Here in the Netherlands there's evidence that the beaker people lived here for a while ... I can just imagine they received a lovely beaker one day saying "Love from sunny Mallorca!, From your adoring cousin Betsy. PS I'm not coming back, mind. It's much nicer here."
The beaker people here would've groused and denounced cousin Betsy for being a rich bitch, while they sat around in another icy cold rain storm ... awww!
It's funny how archeology gets your imagination going off at weird angles .... :)
