Dr Sahab. I want to thank you for your quotation at the end. I swear i said the same thought to someone beloved. I told them that they're using what i care about them against me. That's manipulation. Glad to have your quote and yes the lecture on clergy was on point. We need a renaissance.
A fine attempt by Dr. Sahib to educate the people. We are told that clergy in sacerdotal sense doesn't exist in Islam. Then how did it creep into the Muslim world in the form of moulanas, muftis, qazis, ayatollahs, rohullahs and more importantly murshads, peers, etc. and has developed in to strong institution. A brief on it would be appreciated.
The clergy are those who have been ordained to perform religious duties in a particular faith tradition. They may be responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. The clergy may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. The role of the clergy has changed over time and varies from one faith tradition to another. In some traditions, the clergy have held significant political and social power. However, in recent centuries, the role of the clergy has generally declined in many parts of the world. This is due in part to the rise of secularism and the decline of traditional religious beliefs. Despite this decline, the clergy still play an important role in many communities. They provide spiritual guidance and support to their followers, and they help to maintain the traditions and values of their faith. The clergy also play a role in social justice, working to improve the lives of the poor and marginalized. The hierarchical order of the clergy varies from one faith tradition to another. In some traditions, there is a clear hierarchy with a single leader at the top, such as the Pope in the Catholic Church. In other traditions, there may be no formal hierarchy, or the hierarchy may be less centralized. Hierarchical order of the clergy in some of the world's major faith traditions: Catholicism: The Pope is the head of the Catholic Church. He is followed by the cardinals, who are the Pope's advisors. Bishops are responsible for overseeing dioceses, which are geographical areas within the Catholic Church. Priests are responsible for leading parishes, which are smaller communities within a diocese. Deacons are ordained ministers who assist priests and bishops. Eastern Orthodox Church: The Patriarch is the head of the Eastern Orthodox Church. He is followed by the metropolitans, who are the Patriarch's advisors. Bishops are responsible for overseeing eparchies, which are geographical areas within the Eastern Orthodox Church. Priests are responsible for leading parishes, which are smaller communities within an eparchy. Deacons are ordained ministers who assist priests and bishops. Protestantism: There is no single hierarchy in Protestantism. Instead, each denomination has its own hierarchy. In general, however, Protestant clergy are ordained by a bishop or other senior minister. The level of authority and responsibility of Protestant clergy varies from denomination to denomination. Judaism: Rabbis are the religious leaders of the Jewish faith. They are responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. Rabbis may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. There is no formal hierarchy among rabbis, but there are a number of rabbinical organizations that provide education and support to rabbis. Islam: Imams are the religious leaders of the Islamic faith. They are responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. Imams may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. There is no formal hierarchy among imams, but there are a number of Islamic organizations that provide education and support to imams. Hinduism: Brahmins are the religious leaders of the Hindu faith. They are responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. Brahmins may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. There is no formal hierarchy among Brahmins, but there are a number of Hindu organizations that provide education and support to Brahmins. Buddhism: Monks and nuns are the religious leaders of the Buddhist faith. They are responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. Monks and nuns may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. There is no formal hierarchy among monks and nuns, but there are a number of Buddhist organizations that provide education and support to monks and nuns. Sikhism: Gurus are the religious leaders of the Sikh faith. They are responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. Gurus may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. There is no formal hierarchy among gurus, but there is a single living guru who is the head of the Sikh faith. Jainism: Sadhus and swamis are the religious leaders of the Jain faith. They are responsible for leading worship services, conducting religious rituals, and providing spiritual guidance to their congregations. Sadhus and swamis may also play a role in education, social welfare, and other areas of community life. There is no formal hierarchy among sadhus and swamis, but there are a number of Jain organizations that provide education and support to sadhus and swamis.
Recently I thought that I am the only person who is interested in these critical religious topics, while listening your recent few lectures and this one, I can say that you are validating my thoughts. Thank you so much sir ❤
An amazing in depth presentation on such an important topic. Wow! Truly appreciate your deep understanding & sharing of true knowledge. Allah reward your efforts. Maasha Allah

Taimur bhai, i am not sure if you will read my comment But i would love if you can conduct a program on Ottoman Empire How they were able to rule for such a long time. What system they were using (social/islamic) and how the west were able to defeat them.
This lecture was going very well until Dr. Taimur Sahab decided to dabble into something he doesn't have a good understanding about. Sir, u say we dont need ulema to understand Quran n Sunnah and people can figure matters related to fiqh themselves. In a similar vein, i suggest that you shouldn't go to a doctor's clinic for consultation. Rather all the knowledge is available, pick up those books, read articles online and then diagnose and treat yourself or your family members and perform surgery if required. I am sure u won't be open to that idea and will call it absurd. It just boggles my mind why people who are well read, can say something that makes so little sense. I suppose that will remain a mystery to me
39:22, you have mentioned the name of Rahmania institute which I think is Rahimia Institute of Quranic Sciences. One of my blind friends have mentioned this video in one of our debates. He really likes you but I would request you whenever you explain something by portraying pictures, keep in mind that blinds are also watching you🤩. huge respect for you Dr

With due respect, at the peak of socialism , socialist clergy also came into existence Except China and Cuba , all other socialist systems failed to purged criminals within its ranks
From my understanding, these are occupations in India. Brahmin, Kshatriya and Vaish. Anyone from any tribe can become one of those. It is not a class or caste so no one can inherit from their parents. One has to prove to the society his intelligence or warrior skills. It is called vertical hierarchy. These people can't work for money or material achievements. Specially Clergy or Brahmin or Philosophers has to impart knowledge free of cost. They were sacred in society not by themselves but rather the society made them like this because they were Intellectuals. From my understanding also, we prefer idealism, pure spiritual society. But in Modernity, vertical hierarchy was replaced with horizontal and a new kind of bourgeois Capitalist Society was created by merchants and traders in west who were neglected in the village life, so they started building Cities and from there Modern Science and Technology, buisness, banks etc started establishing. So Modernity is kind of Godless era. Professor Ji is 100% correct. When clergy starts working for money and power it is not clergy them they are hypocrite. Clergy should be like Baba Bulleh shah, Plato, Aristotle etc.. from my understanding. What do you say Professor??

Clergy is Theikedar Taimy! Be it anywhere!
