I highly recommend using a screen protector for your Mac. It effectively prevents scratches and other damage to your screen and is completely safe to use. I've used screen protectors on all my Macs without any issues, and they've kept my displays in pristine condition. While a microfiber cloth is useful for cleaning, it won’t stop gradual wear over time; realistically, you won’t always remember to use it. Plus, it can’t protect against fingerprints or smudges from others touching the screen. A screen protector is a simple, hassle-free solution to keep your Mac’s display looking brand new.

I got the exact same Macbook as you last week at Best Buy for $1049! I have an iPhone and iPad but have never used a Mac so new learning for me.
