Do you happen to have any advice about dumping out the flow through? I find that droplets of the liquid stick to the inside of that cap-less waste tube (especially around the opening) and they're hard to get out. I think it might be because I'm holding the spin column with one hand and dumping the waste tube with the other hand, which prevents me from being able to tap the liquid out very effectively. Should I just work on my dexterity or is there a trick I'm missing? 😆
also P.S. I love your channel, your videos are the best and have helped me so incredibly much!

Thanks so much! Stuff sticks for me too, but the key thing is to just not let the elution port part touch any liquid. Good luck!

Hi, I really enjoyed your tips for RNA/DNA extraction. Just a small question. What is your opinion on pipetting directly on the membrane in a vertical stream, or directing your pipette stream against the wall? What is better? Thank you in advance!

Thanks! I don't know what's technically best, but I pipet slowly directly onto the center of the membrane, let it sit for about 1 min, then spin

@@thebumblingbiochemist Thank you for the advice, let me know if You come across some evidence on which is best! ;)

@@arnewyns9616 I am no expert but I tend to carefully pipette onto the silica membrane towards the center of the column. Following this, I tend to incubate it at 70°C for 5 minutes with the lid open to let the ethanol (from the wash buffer) evaporate and then spin for a minute. It usually works well for me .

Do we then wipe the little filter tube with a Kim wipe or something prior elution?
